SOLUTION FOR YOUR 1440 WATCH INSTRUCTIONS!
After a very l-o-n-g "hold" on the phone with Timex, I know how you can get the instruction manual/guide to the "1440 Timex watch" you have but don't know how to set.
First, look at the back of your watch and there should be a tiny clear-color sticker with 6 characters (#s and letters) -- THIS IS WHAT THEY WILL ASK FOR! If sticker is torn off and there are any other #s engraved on the back they may still be able to help you.
Call the TIMEX OFFICE STORE / WATCHLINE at 1-800-367-8463 (make sure you have the time to "hold" for 5? 10? 15? minutes).
They will send the correct manual for the # you give them...directly to you by e-mail.
Wa Hoo! For such an INexpensive watch, purchased for my son's Christmas gift, I must admit that I have placed 3 phone calls, have searched FixYa on-and-off for a week, and after my long "hold" with Timex -- not sure it was worth it. Next time a watch purchase is in mind...I will be checking to be sure the correct instructions are included or "it ain't a sale" for me! Good luck!

There are two ways to find the user manual for your Timex watch.
1. Find your watch on the list below and click on the language link for your manual.
2. Find the 3-digit module number located on the caseback of most Timex products and click on the corresponding language link for that number in the Module Table at the bottom of the page.

Usually answered in minutes!
I have the same problem! My son's new Timex 1440 Sports watch came with an instructional sheet but it does not go with the watch purchased. Why is Timex not responding to the frustrated customers and update their website immediately? I, too, am unable to access the web page their website refers to for instruction/manual downloads. Eek!
I got this blue 1440 and I have no idea how to set it! Help!
I dont the mode thing. and it is just setting the alarm not real time??
I did what you said but this is what happened (I am trying to set my time for Monday 3:31pm):
1. I hit MODE (top L button) and ea time it gave me two zeros and then a random digit when doing what you suggested. Solution: I held MODE for 3 seconds then it gave me three zeros as you described in point #2.
2. When I got to the three zeros I hit mode again as you mentioned in point #3 nothing happened. Solution: I hit SET (bottom R button) and the "hour" zero began to blink. I kept hitting SET until I got to the 3 and made sure it said P (for PM) at bottom of screen.
3. You made it sound very easy and it should be! But after getting the 3PM, I hit START/STOP (top R button) and it held the hour of 3 and the minutes began to blink.
4. I hit Set to get to the minutes I wanted (31 for the time of 3:31PM as mentioned at top) and then ----- it's a mystery...
When I hit START/STOP to hold the minutes it simply goes back to the hours and the hour digit begins to blink again. When I hit MODE the clock acts like it is done with setting the watch's time BUT the time reads 4:21PM -- what? Where in the world did 4:21PM come from?
Still need help setting the watch! Forget the other features for now...I simply want my son to be able to wear his new watch and to have the correct setting.
Help!
