That capacitor could possibly be the cause. On some sets, the 12V supplies both the video and audio circuits. I would recommend replacing the cap and checking power supply outputs especially the 12vdc supply.

SOURCE: No picture but has sound

With all the listed sets, itis most likely the y-drive(sus) board. The only problem is that this board usually fails when the horz.buffer ic's fail, which is usually part of the plasma display. This was a semi-common problem with this set.The best bet is to find a new set, since the parts alone will exceed the cost of a new one.Pioneer or nec seem to be the most reliable that i have seen.

SOURCE: vizio 47" lcd no picture no sound has power

this could be one of two problem. first, check if you have back light. If you do then the problem is with the M/B. Second, if you don't have back light then the inverter is bad and needs to be replace.

SOURCE: Picture went out on p50hdm Vizio Plazma tv after loud POP

It's either the backlight lamp or backlight inverter is busted due to a power failure or fluctuation. Here's how to determine which is which:

  1. Grab a flashlight.
  2. Turn on the TV.
  3. Shine the flashlight onto the screen.
  4. If you cannot see any display even a faint one, the backlight inverter is dead, else the backlight lamps are busted.
  5. Replace which ever is the culprit.

SOURCE: Ihave sound, but no picture.

There is a problem with the video logic board. You could take it to a repair shop or diagnose it yourself with a multi-meter looking for blown up capacitors/burnt parts.

Check and replace damaged component/s at its main power regulator [SMPS] section circuit. Contact any service technician. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts.

It will be best to replace the power supply regulator board as card basis.

I have a samsung plasma hp-r4262 the picture went out, I have sound but no picture! The day it went out it made a pop noise, then no picture! What could it be?

The problem of your plasma tv could be on power supply. The popping sound you heard maybe cause by blown capacitor. Unplug the tv from the main AC outlet then remove the back cover of your unit. Try to observe if there's a bulge up or leaky capacitor. If you see this bulge capacitor replace it. Be sure to observe proper position because it has polarity. To replace this bad capacitor you should be needing following tools: soldering iron, soldering lead and desoldering pump. Be sure not to connect separated pins when soldering. Let me know what you observe upon replacing the bad capacitor. Good day.

Vizio 42" lcd powers up with sound only - no picture

It sounds to me that the unit has a faulty inverter board which could be due to an overheated/bulged capacitor. I would send in a claim on it to the factory if it is still under warranty.
