Ah the bottom. The drain pan is overfull and can not Handel the amount of water going into it. Normal running operation will evaporate any water left in the pan. You can pull out the fridge and drain the pan or clean up the water until it stops. Good luck

SOURCE: amana side-by-side fridge freezer only cold at the bottom

yes the evap fan in the frezer should be running when the compressor is running[it may not for a minute or so as it starts up.Amana's are good for the connectors at the evap fan motor comming apart.the connectors are white and will look like its together but when you pull it will come apart.i would always cut the connector out and use a wire nut so wont happen again.if any other questions please email thru FixYa and i will be glad to help. God bless ,tom

SOURCE: refrigerator will not get cold, but freezer works

Make sure your fan is working ,its located behind the freezers back wall. If it is working the vent from the freezer down to the refrigerator may be blocked (usually with ice). With out a fan you have no circulation but your freezer may look likes its working,it may last 3 days. Also if you can move everything out unplug it turn it off w/ doors open untill all traces of ice are gone this will free up any clogged tubes. Good luck.

Loud "clattering" noise from freezer area when refrigerator runs

There is a fan in the back of the freezer that runs when the compressor is running. It sounds like you have ice build up around the fan.
You could have one of these problems: (Sorted by most likely to least likely)
1) Auto Defrost timer, defrost bi-metal or defrost heater is defective - the unit will go into auto defrost about twice a day, if this fails you will have lots of ice built up around the cooling fins and sometimes on the fan. Pull the back off the inside of the freezer and check for ice build up around the cooling fins, there should be none or very little if its running normal.

2) Bad door gasket - if the freezer door is leaking warm moist air inside the freezer it could be condensing around the fan causing ice (you will also see ice build up on things inside your freezer too).

3) Plugged drain - the drain leads from the freezer down to the drain pain under the fridge. If this is plugged ice will build up on the bottom of the freezer and potentially around the fan.

My whirlpool side by side refrigerator just started making this loud noise that sounds like either what an air compressor would sound like or a lawnmower. The model is ED5FHE

There are two fans running on a side by side, one is behind the back freezer panel on the side of the freezer side( if it is iced up the fan blade could be hitting ice) May be a defrost problem......
(this fan circulates air from the freezer side to the refrigerator side, as the air is pulled through the coils heat is removed)

The second fan is in the back, you have to pull out unit and remove lower back panel to listen and or look to see if condenser cooling fan is running quiet or the compressor right next to it. Could be this fan blade is hitting something or a bearing going out.......

If the compressor is making the noise you are probably not going to repair it.....

Lastly on some there is a defrost timer motor usually found by the thermostat but not always that could be making noise(least likely) May have a adaptive defrost control board, not sure.....

Hope this helps........

Refrigerator Noise

Most likely the fan is hitting some frost inside. Defrost the fridge by unplugging it for 24 hours and see if it helps.

Frigidaire side by side freezer - LOUD noise...

It sounds like the evaporator fan is hitting ice that is built up on the evaporator coil. When it's making the noise, open the freezer door and see if it stops.
(Most models are wired so that the evaporator fan cuts off when the freezer door is open.)
Check the inside back, lower panel of the freezer for ice built up or frost on it. If there is, you have a defrost problem that is most likley a bad heater. It's located around the coil inside the freezer behind the panel you will be looking at. The defrost problem would explain the freezer not freezing ice cream.
