Hal.dll is missing or corrupt. How do I fix this on my own. The hp mini 110 has not disk drive.
Give this a try you probably have a virus..
Download The following iso listed
below. It is the latest version of the Kaspersky rescue disk. You need
to burn it to a CD with a program like Imgburn (Which is also FREE like
the iso file). Then you need to boot from the CD and run the scanner.
It should fix you right up.

HAL.DLL Missing or Corrupt
If you get an error regarding a missing or corrupt hal.dll file, it
might simply be the BOOT.INI file on the root of the C: drive that is
misconfigured
Insert and boot from your WindowsXP CD.
At the first R=Repair option, press the R key
Press the number that corresponds to the correct location for the installation of Windows you want to repair.
Typically this will be #1
Type bootcfg /list to show the current entries in the BOOT.INI file
Type bootcfg /rebuild to repair it
Take out the CD ROM and type exit
Regards

Boot from windows install CD, when it loads, press "R" for repair.
It will go out to dos.
when it gets to dos, type: CHKDSK C: /P then press enter and let it repair, when done
just type EXIT, it will reboot, remove the CD and see if it reboots. If this doesnt work or you need more help, let me know, i can be more detailed if you need, Im just at work and dont have alot of time to type.

I am very sorry to say that there is no such easy options..... but you have to either re-install Windows (formatting) or repair your Windows copy (without formatting) for starting up your computer. I think these only two options are left for you.
