Denon RC-980 subsitute remote for Denon AVR-3200

I have a Denon AVR-3200 and misplaced the original RC-825 remote which are no longer available. I purhased, per Denon tech support, the subsitute remote RC-980. All functions work well. It will power up and control my DVD, VCR and TV. This RC-980 remote will not power up my Denon AVR-3200???. The remote controls the receiver functions other than power up and power down to stand-by mode. I thought it was a faulty power souce button but after rreceiving a replacement, it still doing the same thing.
The only way I can power up my AVR , is to do it manually. It appears all othe functions of the AVR can be controlled remotely

It's an RC-1000.

Denon RC 969 Remote .Not Lighting up anymore ?.
These remotes are known to be weak, Denon is aware of the problem, here in the Netherlands they've sold out. Spare part no longer available. Try an older remote to an Denon AVR. these will work for say, 98% and are more reliable.

I couldn't locate any info on your remote, but the usual reset solution if by depressing a reset button that may look like the type your press with a ballpoint pen. check the back and under the battery cover also. If you cant find one, then take the batteries out and leave it overnight and then put them back in the following day and see what happens. If all this fails, please let me know and we can try some more options.
