Power is on, all accessories are in place but it won't start.
Remove the work bowl completely and separate the work bowl, lid and pusher sleeve. Plug the base into the wall outlet and press the on switch. Use a pen to depress the dark grey or black button on top of the base of the processor. If you don't hear a sound, then call Cuisinart and get it repaired. If you do hear a sound:
1. Put the work bowl on first, making sure the handle is facing front
2. Put the lid on, making sure the hollow feed tube is facing the back of the food processor
3. Put the pusher sleeve in, making sure the sliding lock switch faces toward the front of the processor
Turn the machine on - it should now be working

Doctor (ThaMp3Doctor)--Thank you, thank you, thank you. You made my day. LOVE that dark grey button. I'm up and running again.
You Rock,

I tried this on mine and the unit operates when pushing the black button but still will not work when using the pusher sleeve. I can push the black button while the pusher sleeve is in the bowl and it will work but the pusher sleeve won't activate it on it's own. Any suggestions?
I think the key is having it set up so that the handle of the bowl is facing forward on the base. If you put the bowl on with the handle at the back of the processor, it won't run. I had the same problem and knew there was a simple solution, but couldn't figure it out because it seems like common sense that the handle point towards the back...not so with Cuisinart.
Thank you so much. I was about ready to send the thing back, thinking I got a defective one. As soon as you mentioned the black button I saw what the problem was and felt really stupid.
thanks. My wife was in the process of packing it up to take back to Sears when I decided to check on the web for an answer.
Tanks so much for this. This worked to a tee.
