What kind of lighting do I need for my saltwater aquarium?

This depends on what you will be keeping in your tank. If there will be only fish, you will not need intense lighting. Usually, the fixture that comes with the aquarium should be sufficient. However, if you plan on keeping reef inside your tank you will need to consider your lighting options. The proper lighting in a reef tank will have considerable effect on coral growth and coloration. The main factors you need to take into consideration are light intensity, spectrum and tank inhabitants.

When do I need an aquarium chiller?

You'll need a chiller when the ambient room temperature is higher than the desired temperature of your aquarium. This can happen due to many reasons such as:

1) If you live in a warm part of the world and decreasing the room temperature is not good enough.

2) If you wish to keep cold water species in your aquarium.

3) If you have installed heat emitting equipment that increases the water temperature such as light, pumps etc.

What is an inline water chiller?

An in-line water chiller is equipped with internal cooling coils. Water is pumped out of the aquarium, into the chiller where it is cooled, and then back to the aquarium again. An in-line chiller can be placed away from the aquarium and is therefore easier to hide.
