I would say directly from player to tv to cut out as much resistance in the line as possible routing it through anything is just more wires to worry about and quality will be same or un noticeable
if the tv doesn't have a vga input, then get a video card that comes out of your computer as s-video, the hiutachi will surely have many s-video inputs.
Trying to hook up your computer to the tv? Or the monitor to the tv? Anyways, you can't hook up the monitor to the tv to see the same thing on both. But for the computer to the tv, connect the s-video cable to the tv from the computer, and you have to press (on the computer) ctrl+alt+F2 or ctrl+alt+F1 it's different for some computers. But if that's what you tried to do, that's the way you do it.
I have the same emerson set.
I had the same problem the first time I hooked it up to the computer.
All I had to do was change my display settings.
To do this, click the start button, go to control panel.
In control panel, double click the display icon.
Click the settings tab.
Look for the screen resolution slider bar, and move it all the way to the left (CLICK APPLY)
NOW HOOK UP YOUR TV, AND IT SHOULD WORK FINE (YOU MAY NEED TO ADJUST THE SLIDER TO FIT YOUR SCREEN SIZE)
This is the easiest way 2 explain it. Hook up on the home theater should be labeled in and out. same as on the tv. The TV might no have that feature as the DVD is built in. You might just have an option for sound from the TV/DVD to the home theater. Again OUT from TV IN to receiver. Same with any other device set up.
