To connect your computer to a wireless router, you click the Refresh network list, then Choose your wireless network and then click Connect to your secured Wireless Network, it will asks for a Network Key before allowing you to connect into your wireless network. This Network Key is either the WEP, or WPA or WPA2 Encryption key that is used to configure the Wireless Router. The Passphrase is an alternate way to setup the Encryption key.
When you are requested for a Network Key, you can just enter the Passphrase that was used to configure the Encryption key in the wireless router. http://www.fixya.com/support/r5270415-network_password_network_address

The correct way to connect a router is to connect the computer on one of the ports first ...(1st one) (via lan port )..and after that type the routers ip address in the browser of the computer ..like this ...http://192.168.1.1 or the IP address that it is written on the back ...
after that it will show you the setting page of the router ..and ask for a name and password...
For assus the name is admin and the password admin on the factory settings ...
if you do not have it new ..and was used by another one ...you have to reset router first .It has a reset button hidden in a hole in the back ..that need to be pressed for about 30 seconds ...Be sure that it is powered and on when you do so ..
After you get by the admin and password screen ..you get into the settings ..and in there set the connection for the wlan port ..where you should connect the modem ..to get the router access to the network ..
here choose to get an automatic Ip if this is the way your modem works ..or use to assign the following Ip addresses..and insert you network data..
in this moment you will choose a range of IP addresses that will be used by the router for the ports ..and the computer will be set on the tcp/ip of the lan card to get an IP address automatically ..and the router will provide one for each port in the range you selected..

after you completed all these ..the router should be already connected to the internet..and all that you have to do is set the wireless channel ...and enable it ...and choose a name and a protocol fr password if you need one ..but if you do not have anyone around in a range of 100 m you do not need it ..cause it will not be able to connect ..
Another issue that you need to keep in mind is that sometimes the modems and the router came from the factory with the same IP address and in this case you wil have to change the IP address in the router to not get in conflict with the modem ..
this can be also changed from the settings like all the rest ..

I forgot my user name

On the back of your router is a 'reset' button. Use a toothpick or a pen to press it for approximately 5 seconds. Once this is done you can log in with the following credentials:

  • user: admin
  • password: admin

How to connect two ASUS RT-N10 Routers to PPPoe connection?

All routers don't work the same. You have assigned to the second router to an IP address that is outside of the pool. Some routers will not see this. Try assigning the second router to the .50 IP and see if it is identified. If so, you know that is your problem. You can then decide to either reassign the second router's IP to a high address in the pool, or use the .50 IP and in the first router, use the advanced settings to reserve the .50 address to the second router so it will not re inadvertently assigned to another device, causing an IP conflict.

I have a ASUS RT N10 Wi-Fi Router. I connected the wi-fi Router to my Desktop after-which I am not able to access the Internet. If I connect my desktop directly to my ADSL Modem, I am able to connect to ...

Check to see if you can plug the wan port to your adsl modem and then plug your pc to the router. on ADSL, some ISPs will record your mac address to avoid sharing. Just see I your router supports cloning your mac. All you do is login to your router from your pc, and it should be under your Wan settings. Use DHCP unless specified otherwise, and ensure to enter any pptp login info if your ISP provided any.
