I'm having the same problem, the modem works when connected straight to my xp desktop or vista laptop and the router can connect to both devices either by ethernet or wireless but I cannot get the wireless router to connect to the internet... I've tried turning off the routers firewall but that didnt help and i'm not getting any ping response at all. Any ideas what i can do?

After 2 exchanges, I've determined that the cause of the WAN drops is an update to the router firmware.  When I purchased the product, the firmware level was 2.0.0.8.  Everything works under this level.  When I updated to the newest (3.something w/ the fancy new admin panel), the WAN connection would constantly drop.  Being sneaky and forcing the router to recovery mode to reflash with 2.0.0.8 will NOT solve the issue.

How can i find out my encription code for my asus eeepc

The encryption code is in your router's wireless setup.
To connect your computer to a wireless router, you click the Refresh network list, then Choose your wireless network and then click Connect to your secured Wireless Network, it will asks for a Network Key before allowing you to connect into your wireless network. This Network Key is either the WEP, or WPA or WPA2 Encryption key that is configured in the Wireless settings in the Router. The Passphrase is an alternate way to setup the Encryption key.
When you are requested for a Network Key, you can just enter the Passphrase or WPA or WPA2 key that was used to configure the Encryption key in the wireless router. http://www.fixya.com/support/r5270415-network_password_network_address For information on securing your wireless network, configuring the wireless router and configuring the wireless card in the laptop/computer, please click on this link and follow my instructions :- http://www.fixya.com/support/r3559128-wireless_router_security

My desktop PC is currently connected to the Internet wirelesly without a problem. Also my notebook ASUS N61Jv has connection to the Internet but only by wire. I wish to have access to the internet...

The router's password is a Passphrase or the WEP or WPA orWPA2 encryption key. The Passphrase generates the WEP or WPA or WPA2 encryptionkey and this is in the router's wireless settings. To connect to your wireless router, it needs the router'swireless settings configured ie SSID, WPA or WPA2 encryption key and also thewireless cards in all the laptops and or computers needs to be configured withthese router's wireless settings. Then the laptops and desktop computers cancommunicate with your wireless router.

I am trying to install a Netgear router after my switch. I end up having no internet on some of the computers connected to the hub and none on the router. If I configure the router as a dhcp client...

You'll want to configure your router as a dhcp server. Connect the switch to your router's lan port. Connect the remaining devices to a port on the switch. Your wireless access point should have it's dhcp server disabled. You can only have one dhcp server per network. The wireless can get it's address from the router's dhcp and the wireless client devices will get their ip address from the router, as well. If your wireless access point is a router with a wan/broadband port and some switch ports you will want to make sure that you are connecting to your Asus switch via one of the switch ports.
Be sure that your client devices are configured to get their ip address via dhcp and you should be surfing the interweb in no time flat.

Youe broadband router is working ok with the broadband cable. So it is configured with the broadband cable. Now,to work with the wireless internet, you have to configured the wi-fi router to work internet. You can see the wi-fi connection but unless & untill you will configure wi-fi router it must not work or if before it was working with the wi-fi then you can check the wi-fi router setting because it might change by mistake.Surely it will work after configurating wi-fi router.

WUSB300N

This would most likely happen if your router is not configured to connect to the modem correctly. You said that you can connect to the router locally that means there is already a connection. The problem would be the routers configuration to the internet.
