After Windows Update Laptop wont boot into Windows, No F8, No CD Boot, No USB Boot - BIOS is fine, reset battery, HD, memory F10 give you selection but no boot. Press power button once and it turns off. Already tried re-seating memory too. Can't figure this out! No beeps no warnings no errors in log file.. What gives?
Windows won't start up? Well, try this
Download Tenorshare Data Recovery from its offical site and install it. Burn it into CD/DVD, or USB flash, put into the computer you need to repair, Bios setting.
It can make sure your important data will not lose.
Best of luck

I am having the same problem. Elix, that is a great suggestion, however this particular model from Gateway does not ship with a recovery CD. There is a recovery partition on the HDD, however with this particular problem the recovery partition is not accessible.

First - re-seat the harddisk and reboot the computer. If the computer does not boot up then reboot andgo into the BIOS configuration to see if the BIOS detects the hard drive. If itdoesn't detect the hard drive then it could be faulty.
Then the hard drive needsto be replaced in the computer/laptop, Windows installed and the computer orlaptop's device drivers plus your programs etc. to get a functioningcomputer/laptop again.

Laptop boots to F10, you can choose the bootup device and goes to blank screen. Doesn't boot from CD after you select, just blank screen. Won't boot fromo USB drive either.
