Worked good for about 3 months,Same problem again, icemaker works fine, but it freezes into a allmost solid block. The food gets frosty. The door seal looks good, the trap door looks ok.Ice auger is locked wont move.It seems to be defrosting alot, its wet and dripping inside half the time I open the door for ice.Expensive piece of #@%^&*!!!.GE lost a customer.Only 3 yrs old.
If the icemaker refill solenoid does not close properly or stays open too long excess water enters freezer compartment and that will freeze over the ice making machine plus other areas of freezer. There is an adjustment on the ice maker to regulate the amount of water going in - locate the screw (behind front panel of maker) and turn counter clockwise to lessen time of fill operation). Problem is not with the GE

Maybe but there is also a thermister in the defrost system that might be bad. The thermister is a small, white, barrell shape and is as big around as a pencil, It has 2 wires going in it and is attached to the top of the coils in the freezer.

You need either a WR51X314 defrost heater, or more likely a WR9X413 defrost control (defrost timer) for your TBX25ZLB. Unfortunately, these part are listed as "No Longer Available". Next time you want to defrost it, find the defrost control at the back of the refrigerator section, very near the temperture set knob (the one that goes from 1-9). You will most likely have to pull the knob off and remove the cover to find the visible part of the defrost control timer. It is a round flat looking plastic part, usually black or white, smaller than a dime, with a groove in it which you can turn with a flat blade screw driver. Turn it slowly clockwise (they usually make a clicking noise as you turn them) until it makes a rather loud click. Now if the refrig was running, it will stop and turn on the defrost heater. If the heater is good, it should begin to glow red and heat until the frost melts or the timer advances back to the run position (usually about 30 minutes). (if there is lots of build up on the freezer, it will most likely take longer than 30 minutes of defrost heater operation to melt it all. You can help it with your hair blower, if you think you need to. ) All this will help to eliminate the defrost heater itself as the problem. A larger parts store may have a defrost control timer left in inventory, or be able to suggest a generic defrost control which you can use. In the mean time, you can defrost your refrig manually this way once a week or so for 45 minutes, then manually advance the timer again to the run position. (If the defrost control timer is bad, it usually will not advance itself back into run) Send a comment with how things turned out or if you have any other questions. Please don't rate this, as anything but a Fix-Ya lowers my score.
SOURCE: GE Side by Side (3 yrs Old): Freezer iced up, refrig not cooling
Most GE defrost problems are bad defrost thermostat and defrost heater.
It requies removing the back wall panel on the inside of the freezer to access the parts.

I have this model also for just over 3 years and it developed the same problem. The issue turned out to be the unit was in defrost mode too long caused by a failing control circuit board (found in the back under a panel cover). The board controls all refrig functions. This was replaced and the unit works normally now. The board costs around $200 plus the service call ... still cheaper than a new refig.

Good day,
Your machine should have a limit thermostat as well as the thermister. It may payto change it first before the motherboard.
It looks like this, mounted on the top of the coil.
If that fails, and the machine goes back to normal cooling until the next defrost cycle, I can think of nothing but the motherboard as the culprit.
