Is there a specific (or recommended) amount of time required, between the moments I physically switch off and switch back on my Cisco ASA 5510, so the device starts correctly? One, so called, professional is trying to persuade me that the device should not be turned back on in less than a minute after being switched off. However he cannot back up his claim with any factual sources. Is he right or wrong? Thanks to everyone for help

The problem is your version of java, you need to uninstall java 6 update 11 or 12 and install java 6 update 6. you can download this from the archive section at the java web site. I had the same problem but this solved it.
Good luck

SOURCE: Restart Cisco Asa 5510
Yes. The firewall will restart. Just be sure to save your running config to memory before turning off. For that you must issue the command: write memory.

SOURCE: block websites on cisco asa 5510.
All websites or specific ones?
If you want to block all web traffic, a straightforward rule preventing HTTP traffic (TCP port 80) as well as HTTPS (port 443) will block any and all web access.
If you just want to block specific sites, I'd recommend an access control list (ACL) configured to deny traffic to those specific site's IP addresses.
