Yamaha RX-V663 delays 10-30 seconds between commands using the remote control. New batteries, new receive. For example, try to raise volume. It goes up 1 dB then cannot give any other commands using the remote for 10-30 seconds. Not a remote problem--same issue when using another remote programmed to the yamaha. help!

I have seen this type of thing with several remotes.  You have some light source in the room that is interfering with the reception of the ir.  Turn off all light sources in the room and then try.  You might be surprised!

I have a Yamaha RX V665 and I am unable to change the volume

The volume keys should be working by default, but you may have volume punch through turned on (meaning the remote is sending signals for TV or CABLE volume function no matter what mode you are actually on). To unlock volume control for AUX mode, do the following:
1. Press and release AUX
2. Press and hold SETUP until the remote blinks twice
3. Type 993
4. Press and release VOL-
The remote should blink four times to confirm unlock.

Switching from comcast to verizon fios my rx-v663

This usually means your receiver is not passing the HDCP copyright protection correctly. Try using component cables instead, if your receiver supports it.

Verizon Fios connection issue with RX-V663 Receiver

I had the same problem with RXV3900, was told by verizon and yamaha it's a software issue with the box. Verizon is suppose to be working on a new update, but no time frame for now. I'm using component to receiver, and hdmi to tv with no issues.

Zune and yamaha RX-V663 Receiver

Buy the Zune A/V kit and hook it up to a non used rca port on the back. Look for the older ones for the 30 gb units, they are much cheaper than the new ones and it takes 10 seconds to modify them to use on the newer units. The A/V kit has 3 rca plugs, one for sound and 2 for video. If you pick a source that can play video and sound on your receiver, then the screen on the zune will display on your television. The A/V kit has a remote with it also so you can control the zune from the room. I have not tried it, but since the Zune remote is IR then if you have a good all in one remote, such as a harmony, you may be able to program the codes from the Zune remote into it and even be able to control your stereo and Zune from one remote. Hope this helps.

Voices drowned out by background noise.

Not a suggestion, but I hope there is a solution.
Recently bought an LG HDTV that has a setting that should increase the voice over the background. If it does, I can't notice the difference. I guess they can probably measure it electronic.
I've had your same complaint for years, without a good solution. Best so far is to use headphones.
I have no idea why film people add all the extra noise. Most of it is not even real.
