Typically the fault codes are listed on the back of the unit on the "spec sheet" or they are on the tech sheet that's located under the front of the unit. Look under the lower front of the unit for a plastic document holder that's glued to the upper side of the refer "floor". It's hard to find usually, you have to pull the lower grill off and lay down with a flashlight to see the technical sheet holder. Some models have the paper folded and stuck to the grill in little holders too.

Another choice is to Google for error codes or fault codes. Note that Samsung is also Maytag so they cross reference easily.

Sorry I don't have all the tech sheets available to me, I leave them at the customers for other techs to use. I guess I should start a database of photocopies so I can have them for questions like this.

Our fridge compressor won't run after a power outage, can it be reset?

compressors use a small start / run capacitor to start the compressor
modern fridges do not like spikes from power outages and many power boards and electronic components fail because of this and I am inclined top use a surge protector before the fridge cord plug
I went google and typed in --fault code 88-88 for samsung fridge model rf26aewp and the first site up is error codes /messages/ blinking
the site is support-us.samsung>popup>iframe
there is a detailed answer there with a list of fault codes as well and what they indicate
there are other sites that also refer to the fault that you have

Where is the reset botton on a samsung rfg297 refrig fridg is totally out

There isn't one. If you had a brief power loss unplug it for 20 minutes and then plug it back in. It should restart. If this does not work.. Press the power cool and power freeze buttons for 8 seconds and then press the UP arrow to cycle through the menu. There will be horizontal and vertical dashes in the display if there are errors. NOTE the position of ANY dashes as they appear as there are actually 13 failure indicators via those various dashes. After the last menu the unit should restart. If it does not start after the menu wait 10 minutes to see if it restarts on it's own.

If you note dashes in the temp windows I need to know what window and what positon of the digital 8 indicator it was in. (upper, center, "top or bottom right and left sides" Top or bottom lines i.e exact digit as it would appear in a digital 8 display.

There are also things like the PTC relay, run capacitor or thermal overload that can cause this.
If you have no display at all.... your most likely looking at a control panel failure.

Our samsung fridge front panel is dented. Is it possible to replace the panel?

If you check with searpartsdirect.com, they have the door assembly for $120 plus shipping and tax. To remove you would need to take the top hinge bracket off to remove the top door then the middle hinge can be remove to allow you to replace the lower door. Hope this helps you.

My freezer degree keeps flashing and a beeping noise comes on about every minute and lasts for roughly 6 beeps. What is it?

Your icemaker sensor is out of its place. unplug the unit . check bottom of your icemake, the sensor looks like a little ***** , insert it back. turn unit on, and reset the board, Hold power freez, Power Cool for about 10 seconds.

Fridge won't cut back on after it shuts off until its [powered off and on.

Hi, It sounds like the cold control is going bad. When it shuts of again, give it lettle bit and the tap on the control instead of turning it. If it kicks on, then you know it's the temperature control. Please let me know if this is what you find and if I can assist you with part# or how to order it.

Thanks

Samsung rb1955sh

if you hold the two top buttons on the right and left side of the display for 4 to 5 seconds it will reset the control board and it should restart, if not check the door switch for a bad connection. I had the same problem and i cleaned the contacts on that switch and reset the controller and no problems since. (2 months and counting!)

Freezer temp too high

Air must circulate in the freezer when working properly. I am guessing the recirculating vent in the freezer may be blocked which would not bring warmer air back to the coil to be cooled. As for the door, I theorize there may be too much negative pressure which pulls the door in while you were pulling out ... don't have solution yet.

Hotpoint refrigerator hss25gfpj ww, clicking constantly, not cooling!!!

Recently had a friend with the same problem. Found that one of the power supplies on the board had a blown capacitor. This allowed the relay on the board to energize but not enough voltage was being sent to hole the relay closed. Basically a blown board was the problem. I found the wiring diagram very informative, it was hidden behind the temprature potentiometers.

My refrigerator is warm and ice build up is happening in the fridge

There is a timer that controls the refrigerator defrost cycles. This is located behind the kick panel at the bottom of the refrigerator. Remove the panel and look for a dial-like device toward the front. Try to manually turn the timer dial and listen for an audible click. No click, no defrost. Call a NEW repairman and have him check the defrost timer. Hope this helps.
