F770 EXR Lens Control Error ?? - Fuji Rod Repair Kit

• First, reset the camera to factory default settings. On most Fuji cameras like the X100T, XT1, and XT10, you'll press MENU > Go to setup 1 (the wrench with a "1" next to it) > and then click RESET > OK. Wait 30 seconds after the reset has finished.
• Turn the camera off
• Next, take the battery out of the camera and leave the battery out for a FULL 2 minutes
• Take the lens off and then replace it 3 times
• Turn the camera back on and cross your fingers!

If not successful rub the contacts gently with the erasure of a school-type pencil

Make certain you have gone through the Menu and done a full Reset at the lowest possible level.

Make certain you are using a incompatible SDHC card instead of an SD card.

Spray some WD40 Contact cleaner onto a Qtip and gently rub the contacts.

Most often that Error Code comes up after the lens has been extended against something, i.e. the camera was turned ON when something was in front of the lens, or it was still in camera case, or the lens was jarred.

If it is malfunctioning after a mechanical insult such as being turned ON when was still in a case it may need repair.

With many cameras with a lens that extends a vacuuming of the various lens barrels will dislodge lint or other foreign bodies that are causing a Lens Error.

open your cam, take out the lens unit open it, re assemble the lens.

You can't remove the lens of your not so cheap bridge camera.
If you want to clean the lens, it really needs to stay on. After removing anything on or from this lens, you need at least a collimator, to align the lens elements. If not it won't be able to focus and could give lots or other errors in the pictures, like colour blur, aberration and out of focus parts.

The lens on the HS series cameras is fixed and is not meant to be removed. They are not SLR body cameras even thought they appear to be. You can buy non-Fuji filters and lens converters to fit on your camera but you can't replace the lens that is on it. It is a Bridge camera, meant to be between DSLR's and consumer point n shoot cameras.

If lens was cleaned properly, you may have dirt on sensor.

Does it say Lens control error, or does it say Focus error, turn off the camera and turn it on again?
The last can happen when you touch the lens barrel. When the lens does not retract when you shut down the camera, perhaps the battery is exhausted or the barrel got stuck.
Try to recharge the battery and start all over again. If nothing goes, try carefully to pull out the lens a little Less then one millimetre. or gently press it back a little. Be aware the camera is a very delicate piece of equipment, so don't use force, because that could damage the camera definitive.
In the manual, it says you should contact FujiFilm, when the error comes back after you switched off and on. So if nothing helps, that is the last option. Visit a repair shop from Fuji, or bring a visit to your dealer.

Whenever I've seen that before it's caused by the camera being dropped on its lens while the lens was out. It can be repaired though it's fairly expensive too, in my honest opinion you'd be better off getting a new camera.
