First you need to know what size the engine is in canada its metric , how many litre? in the u.s. its cubic inches. is the engine a 4cyl. , 6cyl. or 8cyl. most tune ups nowadays consist of sparkplugs and sparkplug wires , and like the other you need to know the size of the engine. its better to go to a oil change garage when they have a special deal on.

What parts do I change to tune up my 2008 dodge caliber

For a standard tune-up, the parts needed include an air filter, oil filter, fuel filter, spark plugs, and spark plug wires. You should also have oil, transmission fluid, coolant, windshield washer fluid, and brake fluid available. A tune-up consists of topping off or replacing fluids, changing spark plugs and spark plug wires, changing the fuel, oil, and air filters, and checking the pressures of the tires. More detailed tune-ups run a diagnostic test on the vehicle to check for any codes that indicate additional issues.

When do i need my first tune up

That depends on your driving. Spark plugs can claim 100,000 miles before a change. But if you drive a lot in town stop and go, you will be putting more hours of running time than you would if it was 100k highway. I have run across a lot of vehicles that state 100,000 on ignition. The plugs may be manufactured with a hard substance such as platinum but the caps, rotors and wire are not and a tune up was needed around 75,000 miles.
The first tune up is no more different than any other. The oil on the other hand, if you did not know what was used from the factory then maybe 3000 and if you use full synthetic then go to around 5000 afterwards. Replace the fuel filter if not every oil change every other. I like doing them that often as they are cheap enough and a clean filter never hurts. It use to be said to change an oil filter every other oil change in the owners manuals. I always did the filter every change.
Transmission filter, again, depends on your driving type. Just don't negelect it or else its going to cost more than a filter and fluid later on.

My cavalier needs a fuel filter and oil change where do i et good service?

find a "mom and pop" type of garage. keep away from any type of chain store (midas, mieneke, goodyear, firestone, tire kingdom, jiffy tune, all tune and lube, ect) or quicky type of oil change place.

I want to tune-up, myself , where do I get information? Advice?

right here! for a tune up all you got to do is change your oil, spark plugs, plug wires, air filter. not very hard to do! to change oil, you got to drain all the oil out with a socket or wrench. make sure its not the transmission you drain. but drain oil, then take filter off, take new filter rub oil around the top on the rubber sealing. put on car. put about 5 quarts of oil in. get spark plug socket, change plugs. when you change plug wires, make sure to do it ONE AT A TIME!!! or else you will wire it up wrong and have tons and tons of problems. then air filter is pretty easy, take it out and clean it,,put back in and there you go, tuned up!

I want todo a tune up myself

for a normal tune up, the only thing you can change are, fuel filter, oil filter and oil, cabin filters, transmission oil filter and trans oil, and spark plugs. The other (tune items) such as spark plug wires and points, and timing settings are either eliminated or non adjustable. If you have the equipment you can do a computer check, but if the truck is running well it probably won't tell you much.
