The "E04" error code on your Bosch washer refers to a drainage problem as you may or may not already know. ( it can mean door lock error, but that is usually a by-product of it not draining )
What you may have is either a partially clogged pump, or a faulty pump...the later being the least likely
There are many brands of washers and the error codes are different.
What kind of washer do you have. Brand name and model number.
Open door and look around the frame for the model number.

Hello, The "e04" error code means is an indication of a water
temperature sensor error below 04'c what it means is that there is over flow of water in the sensor reader around the wire and the sensor
what
you have to do to fix up the problem is to unscrew (open)the washer
then cleanup the water around and also the dirt sensor and wire and
allow it to relax for some time after clean up
please the clean up DOES NOT NEED water or any form of liquid to do this just apply dry cloth for the cleaning. Thanks
E04 refers to Overheating. There might be plenty of reasons. You might have seen, if you shut down the ac for few minutes and again start it, It would work for few minutes and the same E04 display is there.
This is tech's job. I am sorry, i am not discouraging you but it requires certain testing that actually what makes ac overheated.
This is dangerous. So, better to call a tech and get it checked!!
Lisa,
E04 is an error code which shows that one or both of the reels has stopped during play or record operation. We find that tapes with liquid contamination can stick to internal parts in the mechanism causing this error. Try another tape, if this does not resolve the problem something is defective in the tape transport.
Good Luck to you!
