Braun scanner will not advance the slide

The scanner does not automatically advance the slide in the tray. This function became inoperative after a very difficult to remove slide had jammed in the scanning area. When the advance slide button on the scanner (or in the software) is pressed, the scanner performs the removing of the old slide, but the aluminum arm does not move to the left far enough to advance to the next slide in the tray. It appears that the "little lever" below the aluminum arm might have been damaged. The orange triangular advance/reverse advance seems to be all right.

SOURCE: Random black lines on scanned slides

The problem is likely to be a failure of the ribbon cable between the scanning head PCB and the mother board. This is a 28 pin cable, the cable run is poor, the type of cable is IMHO not the best for this application and is too short. The continuous flexing of this cable as the the scanner scans results in fractures of the copper. Replacement of the cable is required.

Can I advance my tray manually?

WOW!! A model 600 !! That model was manufactured between 1964 & 1972. As the "entry-level" model projector, Kodak made it without a lot of the conveniences higher-featured models had. In order to advance the tray, a light touch of the SELECT BAR was required. There is no REVERSE function. If you hold the select bar down too long, the mechanism will "EJECT" the slide (and if you release the select bar, the slide will return to the optical gate. I hope this answers your question!! Good Luck !! Jim

Hello, I recently acquired a 'Braun Paximat N 12' all seems to work ok but no slide tray. Any idea where I can get one?

Gepe Universal 50 Straight tray should work. It might even use the Braun CS Compact trays but the Gepe are more common.

Slide tray does not advance and slide does not stay in proper position

If the slide tray does not advance or reverse, the slide will not go into the optical "gate" AND the "SELECT" function doesn't work, then chances are that you have a broken mechanism drive belt. The good news is there are all kinds of projector parts still available at: www.micro-tools.com The bad news is that unless you have a service manual and have been into a projector before, this is probably a repair best left to a factory-trained repair dealer.

My Dellâ„¢ Laser Multi-Function Printer 1815dn problem is that it says scanner locked unlock scanner

Power the printer off!
To unlock scanner look in the paper output tray on the "roof" of the tray to the left. You will see a light blue slide switch. Slide this towards the front of the printer. It needs a firm tug.
Power the printer back on. The error should be clear.
