Question about Toshiba Tecra M5-S433 Notebook
A while back, my monitor went black. Nothing could get the monitor to work. Recently, I tried again, using a PC monitor hook-up. The initial start-up showed on the PC monitor until the log-on screen showed up. Immediately after, my laptop monitor started working but only under a very heavy red haze and it only lasted a couple of minutes at most before it went black again. At this point, I couldn't get anything back on the PC monitor. Is my graphic card dead? What can be done to troubleshoot this issue?

Nope there is nothing you can do. A reddish cast to the screen is a common indication that the backlight that illuminates the screen is going south.

If you're working on the computer when that happens, it's not probably a power setting. Try to update your BIOS to the most current version at the toshiba support website (support.toshiba.com) & see what happens. Fixes the issue most of the time
I hope this helps.
