Check your power outlet ( cigarette lighter) to see if shorted.

SOURCE: THE IGN A FUSE UNDER THE HOOD KEEPS POPPING

You have a serious short. The fuse is keeping you from frying the electrical system. Did you make any changes to the vehicle recently? Is it all stock electrical? If so, check the Ignition relay in the alternate fuse panel. If that does not work, post a reply and I'll help you dig further. Hope this helps

1996 Chevy Silverado 454 motor dually truck. why do my eng-1fuse keep blowing out

fuses blow because the current draw is excessive to the fuse rating. That indicates that there is a massive short after the fuse. ( bare wire to earth relay short, burnt wire on manifold etc). Use a multimeter set on continuity and work along the harness until you find the fault.

what does it drive - search for some shortcut/ burnt device, wear on cable insulation through 20 amps do not blow without reason. Maybe badly connected engine mass connection - check battery connections to start with

I have a 1996 chevy chyenne 305 vortec 4x4 and my ECM fuse keeps blowing. After the first time it blew I replaced it the truck started, ran for 10min and died, the second time I did put a 30amp fuse in...

start chasing wires. Sounds like something is shorted or worse, a hot wire may be grounded out.
Good place to start is all wires headed to the started as that is a common place for a power wire to melt against hot exhaust.
(that was the case for my 99 chevy)
Check all other fuses and make sure none are blown.

96 chevy truck, fuel pump relay switch (located under the hood, driver's side wheel well) keeps shorting out and melting fuse panel

I would replace the fuel pump and the fuel pump connector, both have problems in this year that cause excessive current draw and blow the fuse and overheat the system. If the relay socket terminals are discolored from heat that must be replaced as well. Of course before replacing any parts have a GM dealer confirm the problems i have guessed are to the cause.

1997 chevy silverado pu 4x4 keeps blowing eng 1 fuse runs for about 15 seconds when fuse blows engine almost quits but keeps running and runs fine. The transmission jerks in overdrive going down the road...

ENG 1 - 20 amp fuse - under hood fuse Box . This fuse powers the O2 sensors heater circuits , Emission - purge an vent solenoids , mass air flow sensor , camshaft position sensor an A.I.R. intake recirculation relay - if your vehicle has it , L31 only
I would look for wires for o2 sensor melted on a exhaust pipe or manifold . Isn't your check engine light on ?

Chevy silverado keeps blowing fuses

Your 20 amp fuse will not blow if glowplug wire shorts. each plug draws 15 amps which is 120 amps total.I think there are in line fuses for them. Try to wring out where each output from the fuse goes, disconnect all and reconnect one at a time till it blows. That should point to your problem process of illumination! Good Luck!!

Chevy silverado keeps blowing fuses

sounds like a mouse has got in and chewed the cables, their is no easy fix from what i can think of but check all the wires and connections in case water has got into it,or snow if your in alaska.its fifteen years old now so its possible that some insulation has broken down or a wiring loom has chaffed somewhere underneath
