Hi,
Our LCD TV will sporadically changes channels, volume, source by itself. It can't be turned off using the power button, so we would just unplug the TV and plug it back on when this happens. We have eliminated the remote control as the cause of the problem and we think it might be infrared emission from the laptop, but the problem still persists after we turn off the infrared function on the computer. Is there a way to fix the problem? Thanks!
Main system control memory IC fault. This is a very small IC; have 8 solder terminals, and can be located very near to the main system control-chroma IC. Check and replace it. Be sure to replace it with the same number printed on it; in all respect. Otherwise, it won't go. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ Before replacing it, try a reset to this set, and then check.
There are two methods to reset TVs. The first is simple to do; a Hard Reset. The other is somewhat skilled; is a Factory Reset (System Reset). To make it a hard reset, just unplug the TV from AC mains wall socket, and re-plug it back after 15 minutes or so. If you do this by overnight is better. This procedure will make it a hard reset. If you want to make it a system reset [Factory Reset]; you have to enter its service mode option, and select the factory reset option. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here.

Most likely the volume down button on the front of the TV or the switch that it activates is sticking. Should be an easy fix otherwise.

If you forget your password you can reset it. Make sure the TV is off. Simultaneously press and hold VOL< on the TV?s front panel and CLEAR on the remote for approximately 5 seconds. Enter a new password next time you access the PARENTAL CONTROL menu. Front Panel Lock 1. From the PARENTAL CONTROL menu, press the up or down arrow to highlight Lock Fr. Panel. 2. Press the right or left arrow to turn on (box has check mark) or off (box doesn?t have check mark) front panel lock. Of course if you don't have a remote that can bring up the menu I don't know how this can be done.

Feed cable signal directly to tv(no BOX) activate auto-program for channel memory.

the intrenal switch that controls the volume up is shorted. you need to have it replaced. the short of the switch doesn't allow any other buttons on the set to work because the micro is recieving the volume up command. it's as if there is an invisible finger pushing the volume up button. the switch is a tachtile switch which is very inexpencive to repair about $50.00 total. if you want to do the repair yourself be aware there are voltages that remain in the set that can be harmful. 50% of the time the cause of these switches shorting is improper screen cleaning. some people spray glass cleaner directly on the screen, this is bad. the cleaner drips into the set and lands on the PC board where the buttons are housed. but I've seen the other 50% also which is hummidity, dust(not anyones fault this just happens), and simple switch failure. so becareful repairing it your self
