F1 is either a bad electronic control board or a bad touch pad.

You find the solution on :kenmore oven with "F1" error

I quote:
"You have either a bad ERC (clock) or a bad touch pad.

    1. Disconnect power to stove
    2. Gain access to the back of the clock (electronic range control or ERC).
    3. Unplug the touch pad ribbon connector from the ERC. This will be a flat wire apx. 1 1/2" to 2" wide.
    4. Make sure everything is clear and will not short out when power is turned back on.
    5. Turn power back on to stove.
    6. Watch for the F1 and listen for the beep.
    7. If you get the F1 and beep, replace the ERC.
    8. If after apx. 30 minutes you do NOT get the F1 and hear the beep, replace the touch pad.
NOTE: Some models incorporate the touch pad and the clock as one part.
If you can't find a new ERC you can send yours to stove clock repair and get it repaired!"

I have Kenmore washing machine showing F1

The F1 fault code on this washer indicates that the water level pressure transducer signal is out of range. The pressure transducer air hose tubing being pinched or crimped can cause this. A failed pressure transducer on the machine control board can also cause it.

My oven when turned on goes to F1 and the heat is like broil...only the top burner comes on????

Hello,Please use the chart to determine which stove you have. You will have to look at the model number. The first 3 numbers will be the series on the chart. In most cases an F1 error would require replacement of the electronic control. This part is commonly refered to as an EOC or ERC. However this type of repair is usually reserved for repair specialists.

KENMORE Range/Stove/Oven Fault Codes – 362 Series (General Electric)
F1 = Stuck Touch Pad Key - Replace Electronic Range Control (ERC).

KENMORE - 911 Series (General Electric/Roper)
F0-F1-FF = Failed transistor in Electronic Range Control (ERC).

KENMORE Range/Stove/Oven Fault Codes- 665 Series (Whirlpool)
F1-E0 EPROM Error - Electronic Range Control (ERC).
F1-E1 EPROM Error - Electronic Range Control (ERC).
F1-E2 U/L ERC Errors - Electronic Range Control (ERC).
F1-E3 Fuel Type Fail

Kill power 30 seconds-Cancel-Start/Enter-5 seconds-Should see “E” for electric-
“9” for gas-If code changes again-replace Electronic Range Control (ERC).

KENMORE - 790 Series Electronic Oven Control (Frigidaire)
F1 = Shorted Touch Pad = Electronic Range Control (EOC) Internal check sum error.
Runaway Temp = Replace Electronic Oven Control (EOC).

Kill power 30 seconds - if error returns - replace Electronic Oven Control (EOC).

Top burner is stuck on and F1 showed on the display

Hi Krista,

Unfortunately, F1 is a fault code for a failed electronic control... it'll have to be replaced. The reason the burner is on is that the relay controlling it has welded closed allowing power to the burner full time.

If you choose to repair this yourself, could you provide the model number? That way, I could pull up schematics and stuff I need to further help you.
