SOURCE: samsung silvercare washer stopped working, won't unlock

here is the most common cause for this problem, according to the Samsung repair guy that was here to fix mine today.
On these washing machines it is possible for some debris (in my case it was a small screw from my packet) to make its way passed the drum and into the pump. Once this happens then the impeller of the pump becomes restricted or completely blocked which will result in the above mentione symptoms.
On some machines the pump is on the front, on others at the rear of the machine. In my case it was at the rear, removing the rear panel will allow easy access to it. Have a bucket ready, when the hose is removed from the pump the water will be draining from the machine. 3 bolts and a hose clamp on the inlet and another on the outlet hose. Disconnect the electrical plug from the pump and you can remove it from the machine for cleaning. A very easy job, requiring little skills and not much in terms of tools. (make sure machine is UNPLUGGED from AC outlet)
Remove obstruction(s) from pump and reinstall in reverse order of disassembly. The guy says these pumps are really tough so if you hear it buzzing, trying to go while it's jammed it's a good sign it will work. If not, replacement will be necessary.
Cost me $140. Could have been worse I suppose. Advise: Empty pockets BEFORE washing clothes...

SOURCE: water not leaving machine

It won't drain If your washer won't drain, check these: It spins, but doesn't pump It doesn't spin or pump It pumps, but the water returns It spins, but doesn't pump If your washer spins but doesn't pump the water out, the drain line is probably clogged. In many washers, a small sock or other piece of clothing can get between the clothes tub and the outer tub that holds the water. If the clothing gets between the tubs, it may then get into the drain hose that's attached to the pump--or even into the pump itself. If it's in the pump, you need to remove the hoses from the pump and pull the item out. To remove the sock from the outer tub port, open the washer's main access panel and remove the large-diameter rubber hose that connects the pump to the bottom of the outer tub. Then, using needle-nose pliers, try to grab and remove the clothing through the port. Sometimes you can't remove the stuck clothing from below. Then you have to remove the agitator, top of the outer drum shield, and inner clothes tub. This isn't easy to do--and you may need special tools--so you might be happier getting a qualified appliance repair technician to do the job. If the drain line isn't plugged, the problem may be with your pump. Even if the pump appears to be turning, the internal impeller may be broken. If so, you need to replace the pump. It doesn't spin or pump If your washer doesn't spin or pump water out but the motor is running, your washer probably has a frozen pump pulley. If so, you need to replace the pump. To check the pulley, remove the pump from the washer and try to rotate the pulley manually. If it doesn't turn freely--if it's frozen or stiff--replace it. It pumps, but the water returns If the water that pumps out of the machine goes back into the machine after the spin cycle, your washer may be siphoning the water from a laundry tub that has a slow drain, back into the washer. The usual remedy for this is to improve the draining of the laundry tub. (Is something stuck in the drain?) Also, check for these problems: If the drain hose reaches more than about 4 inches into the laundry tub, cut off the excess. If your drain hose is lower than the washer's cabinet, install an air gap/siphon break assembly.

I have a Kenmore top load, high efficiency, low water washer. How to get to rinse and spin ?

May be a bad door switch. Washers usually let you open the machine (top load) while in wash, but not for rinse and spin because of the high speed. If the door switch is bad, it may think the door is always open and therefore wont go past the wash cycle.

Front load washer spins and rinses but won't wash!

The pump could either be broken or clogged for your washing machine.Or the drain hose is broken or clogged or the switch assembly is not working anymore. A person that fixes washing machines would need to take a look and see what the problem is.

Model 9156200 top loading washing machine

the lid switch may be loose or broken it happens to me it was washing but never rinse i found out that it was a loose switch this switch prevents the rinse cycle from working with the lid open because of the high speed rinse ,some machines dont work at all, a loose switch makes the machine think the lid is open even if it is closed.good luck.

Kenmore machine won't do more than fill on SOAK setting;won't run

I'm unsure how the normal operation was restored. I attempted to correct it by setting the machine to SOAK+PREWASH overnight to assure that the SOAK timer had run out. Then My wife (who never uses SOAK or PREWASH options) made a clockwise trip around the TIMER control stopping at each of the "detents" (I did not witness this) one of the spin entry points worked to empty the washwater and the NORMAL wash cycle resumed normal function.
I'm not confident that my description above contains all the essential information needed to correct this problem and am disappointed that
I cannot find SUPPORTING LITERATURE that shows how to use these alternate cycles and combinations without another hang-up like these two that I have experienced. That which is supplied with the washer is pathetically inadequate and the Sears site has little else to offer. Document #8566913 was not delivered with the machine but I did find it somewhare on the INTERNET printed parts of it for additional help. *ALERT* #1: Just now I discovered that it does cover the Model series 110.2692* of which my machine is part ... and it ALONE warns of the 20 minute mandatory wait when two controls are set to obtain SOAK+PREWASH function.
*ALERT* #2: Last nite I discovered that the lid switch makes NO SOUND when the lid is lowered normally but can be made to click by pressing on the left rear of the lid. Feeling under the lid, I found no switchpad (?) on the operating arm as shown in diagrams found elsewhere.
FINAL QUESTIONS: 1) could failure to FULLY operate the lid switch allow partial function of this machine, e.g. to fill, agitate, rinse and spin normally but not to soak or prewash? 2) can anyone direct me to a place where I can obtain breakdown diagrams repair directions for this machine?

Washes but does not rinse or spin . I think the pump is not working, it is not draining the water out of the washer which is causing the rinse or the spin to work would it be a switch or the pump

Hi,
After wash the water drains out of machine automatically but its not drainout means the drain motor is not working properly or proper power supply is not given to the drain motor

I have had the same problem. If you switch the machine to off and then to cotton/linen 95, then press at the same time prewash, soaking, qick wash and stain buttons for 10 seconds switch it off. When I switched it on it worked.
