If your Sharp XE-A203 cash register is not stopping printing receipts or transaction records, you can try the following steps to troubleshoot the issue:
Clear any pending transactions: Press the "CA/AT/NS" key to cancel any ongoing transaction and clear the display. If there are any pending transactions in the register's memory, complete or void them to clear the system.
Check the paper roll: Make sure the paper roll is not jammed or empty. Replace the roll with a new one if necessary, and ensure that it is loaded correctly.
Reset the cash register: Press and hold the "RC/ON" key for five seconds to reset the register. This will clear any error codes and may resolve the issue.
Check the programming: Make sure the register is set up correctly and that there are no programming errors. Refer to the user manual for instructions on how to check and reprogram the register.
Seek technical assistance: If the issue persists, contact Sharp support or a qualified technician for further assistance. There may be a hardware issue that needs to be addressed.
It's essential to ensure that the problem is resolved promptly as continuous printing can lead to a waste of paper and ink, which can be costly in the long run.

The software is not needed to program the register. It is only needed if you have a special bitmap file to upload to the register. The manual tells you how to program everything through the cash register keyboard.

For those who requested the Sharp XE-A203 manual, one of the users has it here: http://the-checkout-tech.com/manuals/cashregisters/Sharp12.php
Hi. The XE-A203 does not use error numbers. It should tell you what is wrong in words. The 202 does use numbers. An error 2 on a 202 model just means you pressed the wrong buttons. Can you please check the model number on the machine and make sure it is a 203? Also, does it do it as soon as you turn the key to REG? What happens if you try the key in other modes? Please try to give me as much info as you can, and we can try to sort it out.
