Any programmable UHF 450-470MHz mobile radio could be programmed to the frequencies of the Spirit MU series radios.

Your radios are 2 watts, so you would probably want to stay with a 1-10 watt, or 10-25 watt mobile radio, to have the best success. The current compatible model for Motorola is the CM200 UHF radio. If you are looking at a used radio, just simply watch for it to be UHF 450-470 MHz.

Then when you are ready to have the mobile radio programmed, the dealer (or programmer) will need to know the settings of your MU radios. These are easily read out over the phone, or in person by an experienced programmer.

Frequency for Motorola MU24CVS UHF (4 Channels) 2-Way Radio

This radio has several available frequencies built into the unit:
1 - 464.5000
2 - 464.5500
3 - 467.7625 *
4 - 467.8125 *
5 - 467.8500
6 - 467.8750
7 - 467.9000
8 - 467.9250

You would need to read out each channel to determine what each of the 4 channels is programmed to. Reading out is easy on this unit. With the radio turned off, select the channel with the channel knob, then hold in the PTT button while turning the radio on, immediately it will tell you the frequency number, (if you want to change the freq you can use the PTT button to walk your way up through the numbers to the number you'd like), then if you press the monitor button it will lock in your chosen frequency and it will tell you the private line code (if zero it is turned off), then press the monitor button again to lock everything in. Do this on each channel and you will know how your 4 channel radio is programmed.

Note: This radio is a wideband radio and only a few were produced with narrowband capability. After Jan. 2013 you are required to use narrowband only in the USA. If your MU24 radio has two RED dots above the word Spirit it is narrowband on only frequencies 3 and 4. If your radio has no red dots on the label your radio is wideband only.

Best regards.

What is the frequency for this radio what ever came with it

These are programmable radios that require Motorola software and programing equipment that is only available through a Motorola dealer. A reputable dealer should be able to help you reprogram the radios with the appropriate frequencies and codes for your use.

WILL THE MU24CVS AND THE MU21CV CAN THE TALK TO EACH OTHER

Yes. They would simply need programmed to match. MU24 is a 4 channel radio, so you would need to leave it on channel one to match the 1 channel MU21 model.

Here is a link to the user guide where you can read about programming the radios: http://www.giantintl.com/RadioPDFs/Outdated%20Manuals/Spirit_M_Series_E.pdf

Compatability

The Kenwood TK-3200LU15 is the 2Watt replacment model for the TK-3101. the TK-3202 or TK-3203 are 4 watt models that can be used. Although, they have to be programmed with the frequencies and codes you are using. The TK3101 came with defualt GMRS/FRS frequencies.

Motorola Talkabout T5400

Hello, There is not compability issue, sounds like you have a mic problem because you hear the Roger Beep and that means that the transmition and Reception cicle is working if you could test an audio accesorie would be great. There is another possibility if one of the radios is out of frequency you could experiment the same symtoms.
