I have an electric dryer from LG, it is the TROMM DLE2514W Front Load Dryer, purchased in December, 2005. When we turn it on, all of the lights start flashing rapidly, and the Check Filter light is on. I have checked and cleaned the lint filter, and have made sure the duct from the back of the unit to the outside is free of any obstructions. After turning it on and off, the process continues, and the unit will not work when hitting the Start button, as the drum will turn about a quarter turn and then stop and all of the lights remain blinking or fixed in the case of the Check Filter light. Please let me know if you have any suggestions on how to proceed. Thanks!
I had exactly the same problem with my newish LG dryer. I deduced that the dryer's computer essentially needed to be rebooted. I pulled the plug for a minute or so, then plugged it back in. It works perfectly now.
As an added note to the solution I just posted (wouldn't let me edit), if your dryer is hardwired, you should flip the breaker to "reboot" it. There's no need to actually pull a plug.
the reboot is exactly right.
I was about to start pulling covers apart, but decided to search the internet. REALLY glad I did. Turned off and on the circuit breaker and that cleared the blinking lights. It works now.....whew!!!
Thanks so much love the new age of technology and sharing information! Saved me from calling a repair man..
Circuit breaker did the trick. Saved me $. Thanks
Mine is a gas dryer, should have mentioned that
Just cleaned the lint trap (had to undo some screws on the lint trap case to open it and get the vacuum nozzle down in there; found three credit cards, the oldest of which was about a decade old). The same error was still throwing, so I used this advice to unplug/replug the power cord. Worked fine after that. Thank you.

I unpluged the cord and fliped the breaker too but still the "Check Filter" light keep flishing. The dryer turns on but it doe NOT blow any hot air? Is there any other thing i can try. PLEASE HELP!!!!!
I had the same exact problem with my dryer it is an LG DLE2514W, I called the service center and they had me unplug the unit, push and hold the start/pause button for 8 seconds, then reconnect the unit. It worked perfectly.
Thank you ! This worked for me as well....
Thanks! This worked for me, only I had to hold the button again after I replugged it.
Apparently we are all having the same issue. I will try this and hopefully I will be as lucky as you all!
Very helpful. Great. Works again!
It worked for me as well.
That worked for me too! Thanks!
Worked for me too! Thanks.

I had this problem, said check filter, would not turn on. I read somewhere that it always says check filter, and figure I just never notice it, because it works. But I unplugged, and plugged back in. Turned it on and it still didn't work. I then got CL and realized that meant child lock. I held that button down, unlocked it, and it worked. So I am thinking one of my children may have turned on the CL and that's why it would not turn on.
Thank you so much! That was it
Thank you so much! Same here. That resolved the problem!
Our LG dryer had been down for more than a month with this "check filter" thing, until I see your post. You are a life saver, thanks SO much for sharing !!!
lol... I was getting so upset before reading your post. I simply held down the CL button and machine started working right away. THANKS so much and appreciate you sharing!!!
Oh my gosh, thank you so much, if it was't for you, I was going to call a tech, and just to come out, they were going to charge me $80 to $120 plus the cost to repair it.

Same exact thing as in the first question. I followed the advice to unplug and it's working perfectly!! Thank you so much...you just saved me hundreds of dollars!
Dryer isn't drying like it should, and it kind of has a burning smell. Tried cleaning the lint filter from the dryer itself all the way to exterior of the house. It's just over 3 years old any suggestions?
I have exactly the same dryer.I've found cleaning inside where the lint screen goes usually helps, because stuff does get past the lint screen which cogs against the impeller and ducting under the dryer.
Removed the lint filter. Pulled most of the lint out of inside where lint screen goes....dryer now works fine.
Mpot, I think you are looking at either a door switch problem or idler pulley switch problem. Because of the flashing lights, I would start with the door switch. If it was a thermistor, you should be getting a error code. Of course make sure you have a proper connection to the terminal block, where the cord attaches. The idler pulley switch is a safety device to stop the unit in the event the belt breaks, but they have been know to go bad. Catriver..post back.
When the lights are flashing, it is an error code, which indicates a problem with the door switch. Could be a loose connection there.

I had a similar problem with a flashing filter light and beeping. I tried the reset step several times without success.
Finally I pulled the dryer from the wall and reached into the back of the outlet and pulled caked lint and then vacuumed. I must have pulled lint off a sensor because when I plugged the dryer back in it started without issue and no beeping
We had the same problem with the TROMM LG dryer.
Inspired by the other answers posted here, we eventually found that the problem was that the button of damp dry beep was stuck, i.e. pressed previously but did not pop back. The button is located at the lower right corner of the control panel. So it caused the internal computer software stuck at a certain step, not being able to respond when other buttons are press. Any button behaving as described may cause a similar problem of dryer malfunctioning.
Symptom:
1) filter cleaned, dust under the filter removed (some online video mentioned that it is due to the dust underneath the lint filter, we tried it, but no vail.)
2) check filter light still blinking after the machine is turned on
3) no response to any button, if pressed
The unplugging worked for me. Thanks
The "Check Filter" light on our LG DLEX3360W was blinking on the dryer display as were several other codes including the "CL" (Child Lock) code. After ensuring that the lint filter was clean as well as the outlet tube on the back of the dryer, I proceeded to 1). Unplug the dryer from the wall for 5 minutes (hoping it would clear the display); that did not clear my blinking display; 2). Turned off the electrical breaker to the dryer for 5 minutes (again, hoping it would clear the display); that too did not fix my blinking display. After turning on the power to the dryer, the "Clean Filter" and the "CL" codes were still blinking. I made the mistake of thinking "CL" meant "Clear." It doesn't. It is an indicator that the "Child Lock" feature for the dryer is turned on. The dryer will not turn on while the child lock feature is on. I pressed the "Easy Iron/Child Lock" button (it's a multi-function button) for 3 seconds and the child lock feature was turned off. Once turned off, the dryer worked fine. NOTE: The "Clean Filter" light was still blinking after turning the child lock feature off. This should go away after a new drying cycle is run again. Hope this helps!
About to try this hope it works, so cannot afford a fix or new dryer!
Thank you!
Hi I can not find the CL button anywhere in my dryer, where is that located please ?

Help did all this still not working, gas lg steam dryer model DLGX7188RM
I have tried unplugging my dryer. Cleaned inside and out. Held the pause button and still the light remains on. Help.
My DLE2514 flashing "end", etc. "CL" on display. Clean filter light flashing. I cleaned out exhaust from filter to external vent with reverse leaf blower. Still "CL". Then read this sight and unplugged dryer for one minute....works fine for now. Thanks.
Same thing happened to me and unplugging it also worked for me. Thanks for the tip!
I have just purchased Aug. 08 a new lg dryer DLEV833W, I have not dried any sheets that have not ended up in a ball, all wrinkled, and still wet on the inside of the ball. Give me a break my old kenmore dryer that was 18 years old did a better job than this.
SOURCE: the check filter light keeps coming ob to my lg
Clean the vent all the way to the outside.
The dryer will take 4-5 loads to reset the filter sensor.
Mahe sure the vent is not smashed behind the dryer.

same problem
My unit is still working but the light is coming on. I don't know where this 'filter' is. Does anyone know?
Same problem lights flashing dryer starts for a second and stops. I don't have the manual and don't know where to have this serviced...
My dle2514 was not working. Lights were flashing, would not start. I followed the advice on here, flipped the breaker for one minute, flipped back on and it is workng fine now.
Model Nr, 26-68102 7.6 cuft electric Dryer
same issue but with CL, which means child lock but I was able to open/close door. To fix, press/hold the icon on dryer that says "Easy Iron *Child Lock" it isn't a press in button but senses your finger. This made the change filter disappear and the CL. Yay, dryer now works!
Thanks it worked for me
