You have a bad safety interlock switch someplace. If you're not on the seat and you let off the clutch, it will die, so it's possible the seat safety switch, or operator presence control as it's commonly referred to, has worn out and needs replacement.

I have a Remington electric versa saw rm1635w and the chain won't spin around the bar what do I need to get it running again

there is a safety clutch that you disengage when finishing the cut
it disengages the chain from the motor drive by a dog clutch
pull the safety bar back towards the trigger and the chain will cut
if you leave the finger on the trigger and the chain jams in the cut , you push the bar forward and the motor spins free
if that doesn't work take it in for a fix as that clutch is failed

Why is it when electric clutch is engaged, engine cuts out?

Most likely the seat switch is either bad and unplugged.

Received a * used* Swisher ZT 2660 26hp in October of 2010 has 50 hours on the meter. First 2 or 3 cuts all went fine last cut of the year when the mower would contact grass / leaves the blades would...

Is the belt slipping? If it's slipping you'll notice it, because it'll smoke pretty soon. If, as you watch it under varying load, it slows down with the blades then the belt is fine.

If it's not the belt then it's going to be the electric clutch that drives the belt. Get your voltmeter out and tap into the wires that go to the clutch, watch it as the mower runs. Anything under about 13V and the clutch may slip. If the voltage is good then the clutch is worn out. They don't cost too much, I'm pretty sure they're well under $100 still.

Make sure the wires that plug into the clutch are making a good connection. You want to check the voltage between the switch and clutch so that you're also checking the switch- if it's got a little crud in it, or a bad connection farther up the line, it can cause the clutch to slip, and you'll see this as the voltage dropping.

The motor in my 1991 Daihatsu Charade cuts out when the clutch is depressed whether or not the car is in gear or n neutral Even happens when driving, put foot on clutch to glide and motor cuts out

Hey mate i had the exact same problem in my 95 Charade 1L. It is an electrical problem and nothing at all mechanical. My friend who is a mechanic wasnt really sure what it was but then found a cable under the dash that i think the clutch hit a limit switch or something and it tells the computer to shut down. He didnt know why and i cant think of anyreason either. Anyway, he pulled it right out of the circuit and threw it away and i havent had a problem since and the car runs exactly the same economy and performance wise it just doesnt stall any more. You wouldnt happen to know about the location of the o2 sensor in the one litre model would you?? Cheers, Zac.

Snapper yard cruiser 33in. cut joystick blows

Unplug the engagement clutch[it bolts to the motors crank] and try to engage again. If the fuse does'nt blow you need a clutch. If it does still blow you need a switch or you have a short in the harness.

McCulloch mt 700 weed wacker, the weed wacker will not spin to cut the weeds

If the motor is running another possible solution is you have a broken drive shaft spring PN-753-04280 To check this remove the screw which holds the **** pipe to the motor and loosen the clamp. The **** pipe should pull right off the motor exposing the end of the drive shaft spring. Pull the end of the spring, if it comes out it is broken.
