First you can check to be sure the drain is not backed up and water has not gotten into the float switch. This is typically located on the drain line and will have 2 wires leading to it. Either check for water in the emergency pan under the unit or pull the switch out and be sure it's dry. If all is dry, turn the power off and expose tstat wires. Wire red green and yellow together with a wire nut and turn power back on. This will bypass tstat and tell you if the tstat is the problem. Let me know!!

SOURCE: with new digital thermostat furnace runs every 10 min.

You did not say what model you use. Depending on the model , there might be setting for 'deadband' or 'system type'. Changing that value will affect when it turns on. If it switches on that frequently and the room feels comfortable, it might be that your thermostat is placed on wrong place - one which cools of quickly, or there is draft cooling it off. Digital thermostats have a 'learning period' and adjust to dynamic of the room.

SOURCE: Even after replacing the battery, the programmable

Turn control to off. Remove the batteries for at least one hour. If the display message still reads "bat lo", leave control off, batteries out, and disconnect the red wire on back and wait another hour. Reconnect red wire, put new batteries in and turn system on. It's like a reboot.

If there are no batteries in the thermostat then the furnace was being used to power it. To make sure it is just a thermostat problem, you can jumper the power and heat wires that connect to the thermostat, usually red and white, or terminals R and W. If the furnace comes on, then you need a new thermostat. If that doesn't work, you have lost power at the furnace somehow. If the breakers are good, and the furnace switch is on, then you can have a bad door switch inside the furnace, a bad transformer in the furnace, or a bad circuit board if equipped. If there is a circuit board, they usually have fuses somewhere on them too that can blow. Just be sure to cut power off at the breakers before checking. Hope this helps and good luck!

Our airconditioner will not kick on when we switch

Although I am not familiar with that exact thermostat, most of the Honeywell line-up are the same.

If your old thermostat simply had one "R" terminal, then you should have left the jumper installed on the new thermostat between "RC" and "RH".

The only time you should remove the jumper is when you have 2 dedicated control circuits, most commonly found with fossil fuel heating set-ups.

Install the jumper wire and ensure all other wires are properly connected to their respective terminals. Since I do not see a common terminal in the PDF I found, I would recommend changing your batteries as well just as a precaution. With no common terminal, you must depend solely on your batteries to supply the correct voltage to the contactor for it to energize. Any time its not performing properly, check your batteries first.

If all else fails, check your breakers and ensure the breaker for the AC is on and not tripped.

Hope this helps. Good luck.

We have 3 Duracraft thermostats. We have recently had problems with all 3 switching from Centigrade to Farenheight and back. Batteries changed with no resolution. When they switch to Centigrade they don't...

On some programmable thermostats you need to hold either the up and down buttons together to get
the thermostat to stay on farenheight.

It could also be that you will have to go in the program and make sure you set it to farenhieght.
On the back of some T-stat covers it will explain how to do this

Dellllllllllluxe programmable thermostat chronotherm plus iv

Does your thermostat have batteries. What is the brand of furnace and model # . Does the furnace have a pilot light or is it electronic ignition. if you need heat you can take thermostat of wall and take wires that are labeled r and w and wire nut them together to see if furnace comes on. Make sure you turn breaker off to furnace first before you take thermostat off the wall. If furnace comes on after you turn power back on after you connect those two wires together then you will probally need new thermostat. If not you have a problem with your furnace. If you have any questions after you try this feel free to ask any more questions.
