Airconditioner not running...checked breaker switch...replaced batteries in Duracraft thermostat...instructions for reprogramming themostat not complete enough for me to follow abbreviated instructions...can't complete the program so airconditioner won't work...we have a heatwave of over 30 degrees c. could someone give me step by step (not abbreviated) instructions on reprogramming ?????
First you can check to be sure the drain is not backed up and water has not gotten into the float switch. This is typically located on the drain line and will have 2 wires leading to it. Either check for water in the emergency pan under the unit or pull the switch out and be sure it's dry. If all is dry, turn the power off and expose tstat wires. Wire red green and yellow together with a wire nut and turn power back on. This will bypass tstat and tell you if the tstat is the problem. Let me know!!

Remove the thermostat and just touch the wires together and make it run until heat wave is over then figure it out. Kinda of a pain but at least it be cool

You did not say what model you use. Depending on the model , there might be setting for 'deadband' or 'system type'. Changing that value will affect when it turns on. If it switches on that frequently and the room feels comfortable, it might be that your thermostat is placed on wrong place - one which cools of quickly, or there is draft cooling it off. Digital thermostats have a 'learning period' and adjust to dynamic of the room.

put the jumper back in RC and RH and that should do it.

site shows this thermostat is a non programmable unit and has been discontinued. none of the info sheets including a pdf shows a replacement battery. this thermostat operates off line voltage only. check for a control fuse or breaker on your heating unit.

Turn control to off. Remove the batteries for at least one hour. If the display message still reads "bat lo", leave control off, batteries out, and disconnect the red wire on back and wait another hour. Reconnect red wire, put new batteries in and turn system on. It's like a reboot.

Make sure the "RH" wire also connects to "RC"
