Any one know the best way to dismantle this unit for cleaning and bearing replacement. This unit stinks really bad and has bad bearings so I have good reason to dive in there, I just want to know if there is a specific way I should or should not approach this project. I would rather not make it more difficult than it needs to be by doing it the wrong way It would be great if someone could lead me to instructions which include pics or video. thanks in advance for the help

Don't order any spares until you've stripped it down. See below:
Two days doing it blind without instructions! More like two hours if I had to do it again.

Sorry, but you are not so lucky. LG should not even offer those parts, as it takes special hydraulic presses to install some of that. For anyone but the manufacturer them self you must replace the back half of the outer drum (I believe it is a 3045ER0008C in your case) which contains the installed seal and bearing, plus I'd recommend replacing the spider asm 4434ER0002A, as the shaft may be a bit worn where it contacted the seal and bearing, and you don't really want to go through all that work (at least 2 hours) only to have to do it again. A FixYa rating would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi,
I had the same error code along with the drum "freezing" up. The first unit that was delivered 2 years ago leaked water from the detergent compartment and they sent a second unit. I have only had this unit for 2 years and I am very disappointed in the LG product. LG
was no help on the phone and I the only people that could service it
were 45min away from were I live. I took the advice of a posting on
this website that it could be a part called the sensor assembly and ordered it from an online electronics store (www.mcminone.com). To get to the sensor assembly, you first unplug and take off the back plate that has 4 small screws. Next, unscrew the big bolt in the middle and take off the hubcap looking part the bolt was securing. Next
unclip the two sets of wires on the bottom of the circle you are
looking at (the set of wires to the right are connected to the sensor
assembly you want to replace). Next you will unscrew the 6 or so smaller bolts to take off the circular piece that the sensor assembly is snapped to. Take it off, unclip the old sensor assembly and clip on the new one – and reassemble. This worked perfectly for me and the part only cost $18 bucks plus shipping. When working, this product works well but I will not be purchasing any LG products in the future.
Hope i helped you.
Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

Get a new washer. Perhaps another brand.
The fix for me was to get a new washer. Had same issue with loud spin cycle. Tried researching while wife was continuing use of washer. Then the LE message appeared.
Took back apart and found that water had leaked and caused a boat load of damage. Bearings shot, seal leaks, drum leaks, Stator damaged. Same issue as 'jammy64' stated.
Cost to repair wasn't worth it. Going to get an
Electrolux model.

Thanks for the quick and detailed responses, I almost ordered the bearings, but now I will wait till I have it apart so I can make an assessment of what is needed I will hope to be able to remove the bearings themselves with some tinkering i once pressed in bearings on a pt cruiser by placing the unit between a pickup truck and hydrolic jack placed on the road so we'll see if I can figure something out for this situaltion I just hope the shaft is ok as i am not sure how long this was run in this condition since i got it from a garage sale
It has been some time since this was originaly posted but I figured I should let you know that it is possible to do this yourself but be prepared to invest the required time for the job. It took me all day to do it by myself but that includes the time spent removing all the lime/mold/calcium build up that was everywhere and somewhat difficult to remove. .. I completed the job with little trouble, I used a large socket to reinstal the bearings being carful to pound it in slow and straight. The hardest part was removing / installing the hub. The hub it was a tite fit, it would have been much easier with an extra pair of hands but if you are ahndy at all this shouldn't be too difficult a job.
oh... and thanks to everyone for your input especially SteveSays. I don't know if I am alowed to post a link but I will try to post one to the site I used that was very helpfull with good pics. here it is... http://www.automaticwasher.org/cgi-bin/T...
