30" Fridge- Viking VCRB304RS
30" Freezer- Viking VCFB304LSS
I have had lots of problems with these units. Recently I have replaced low and high voltage boards and thermoster.
After a major surge by our horrible power company here in St. Thomas we heard a electrical noise towards the back of each unit and an electrical smell. Power was shut down to both units.
Upon power up now we get normal lights and compressor after the "6 minute delay". All seems ok but the units are not putting any cold air out. Where should I start?
Thanks,
Spencer
Are you sure the compressors are running, it could just be that the fans are starting but the compressor does not start.
It sounds as though you may have fried the boards again.
Remove the top grille and reach in to the compressor, to see if it is running, you should be able to feel it vibrating, there should also be some heat to it, not neccessarily hot.
have you tried putting surge protectors on the outlets, to save the boards in the future?
You can get required parts from from online sites like: --- www.repairclinic.com or from searspartsdirect online site. --------- This should help.Thanks.Helpmech.
