Whirlpool model wtw6600sw2 makes a squeeling noise when attempting to fill

Machine will attempt to fill with water at start of cycle but stops within a few seconds, the lid locks and then a loud squeal starts. Have to push cancel button to get it to stop. After hitting pause and start about 3 times the washer will then work ok until the rinse cycle when the problem repeats.

SOURCE: help with whirlpool awm 8103/1

Okay, ther manufacturer recommends unplugging the washer for at least 30 minutes to reset the computer. It could be you have a momentary glitch causing some problems. If you still have the same problem after leaving the washer unplugged, the following link explains the "FH" error code:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r615354-fh_error_code_whirlpool_duet_kenmore

If your clothes are stuck inside and you still cannot get them out because the door will not unlock, you will have to use the manual release to open the door. The next link explains how:

I hope this helps you. If you require additional assistance, please let me know.

SOURCE: F20 CODE Whirlpool Duet Sport Washer wfw8300sw00

Hi!

“F20” on display
(Water Inlet Problem—no water or insufficient
water supply) Select PAUSE/CANCEL twice to cancel the cycle
Unplug washer or disconnect power. Check the following: Are water faucets completely turned on?
Are screens at inlet hose connection to washer
clogged? Are water inlet hoses kinked? Are water inlet hoses frozen?
Do rate the solution.

Thanks

SOURCE: Whirlpool washing machine makes grinding noise

Hello Friend, Your solution is a real quick fix. The problem you are having is very common, your motor coupling has broken and that is what's making the grinding sound, also in this condition it will always pump out the water. Go to your local appliance parts store and purchase a new motor coupler, your cost should be under $25. It's very simple to remove old and install new coupler. First remove two screws from control panel and tilt control panel backwords exposing area under panel. You will see a metal clip on each side of cabinet under panel. Remove these clips, and unplug wires from plug in on cabinet. Remove cabinet by lifting up in back and tilting forward. Once removed you will see the innerworkings of your washer. Lay washer on it's back and remove the two spring clips that hold water pump in place and remove water pump. Leave water pump hooked up just move to side out of your way. Then you will remove the two screws that hold the motor clips in place and just snap the motor clips off. Be sure to unplug the wire harness plug from the motor. Just simply lift the motor straight up and off of the transmission. There you will see the motor coupler broken and to replace, just pry old one off transmission and motor with large flat head screwdriver. You will notice that one half of coupler is attached to the motor and the other to transmission. In the coupler kit you will receive both pieces and the rubber center connector. Just replace all the old with all the new and your problem will be solved. Happy to help, Tim.

Why did my Whirlpool duet stop showing estimated time for each cycle?

reset it.
Unplug the washer for 30 seconds to attempt to reset the Duet washer control. if your fill hoses have a flood stop check valve turn the water off, disconnect the hoses and run a little water into a bucket. Then reconnect the hoses to your washer and do a Duet Washer Quick Diagnostic Test.

When the dishwasher is turned on it just makes a whirring sound but does nothing. It started making a lot of noise before the cycle finished a few days ago.

The whiring noise is the machine giving itself time to fill with water before it kicks into the next cycle stage, if the machine sensor doesnt detect water within the time set the machine will not go to the next stage and will detect/display a machine fault/error. Can you hear water flow into machine while hearing this noise also? If not This would suggest water intake to machine has been interrupted. if the water flow is not interrupted then with the soap not dissolving it could be either temp thermostate or pump blokage. You'll need your model number to search for the machine Service manual online if you don't still have it. *Do not attempt to clear pump/ diagnose or open your machine without turning machine off and disconnecting plug from the wall*

Hello,

The not completly filling and squeeling makes me want to look at the screen on the water valve that the hoses attach to on the rear of the machine for blockage preventing water flow,to me the squeeling is the solonoids on the water valve calling for water yet no water coming in. IF you manually fill the washer using buckets of water/a hose what will happen? perhaps try that!!
Also if you have the "aquaflow flood stop" hoses the internal stopper in the hose is bad, replace hoses using standard hoses

Good luck,i hope this helps you to fix your washer,

Whirlpool AWO3761 stuck mid-cycle

The cycle doesn't advanceWhen the cycle doesn't advance, it's probably the timer or a cold-water supply problem:

  • It's the timer, if your washing machine fills with water and begins agitating, but the timer never advances--or if the washer is in a spin cycle and the timer won't advance. Then you need to replace the timer.

  • It may be a cold-water supply problem, if the washing machine fills with water, agitates, drains, and spins, but then doesn't fill with rinse water. See There's no cold water.

Whirlpool LHW0050PQ - Water wont empty or fill

This sounds like a plumbing problem. Lets see if we can isolate it. Turn the valves off behind the washer and remove them from the washer. Remove the washer drain hose from the stand pipe. Stuff one of the hoses into the now vacant drain line and turn the water on. Then do the other hose. Any noise? Now reconnect the fill hoses to the washer and reinstall the drain hose to its' place. Turn on the water valves at the wall, set the washer to a cold/cold cycle and start it up. Listen for noise. Now shut the machine off and set it for a hot/cold cycle and turn it on. Listen for noise. If you get no noise now, it's all good. If you're getting noise from just your hot water, your water heater is set too high and you have steam propagating in your plumbing. Your washer water valves (where the hoses connect to your machine) will only do this if you have low water pressure coming from the wall. Still, it'll be a plumbing problem.
