Toshiba Satellite Notebook starts with black screen

When I turn on the computer the power lights come on and stay on.
The hard drive light comes on and then cuts off. I try to hear the hard drive but cant tell if its on and is very quiet or its just not starting at all. The screen just stays black, there are no logos or any type of screen display happening just a solid black screen.

It sounds like video card problem. Bring it to a repair shop.

Hdd light does not come on during power up on toshiba l555d-s7005

If the screen stays black it means there is an issue with BIOS. It should load before the HDD ever does. Mother board issue or monitor issue.

Display inop 4th light on base doesnt stay on

Do you get the Toshiba logo? before it goes black, if that is so the hard drive is more than likely the problem, first! remove the hard drive and reseat it back in place, sometimes this will restart the hardware, if no change! have it tested.

Power on but no screen oor hard disk motion

Hello there:
i would suggest using a spare monitor and connect the cord that would normally go into a computer and connect it to the laptop and then plug in the power cord for the monitor and turn on the computer if this works and everything is ok then you know that the laptop screen may be faulty or there may be a loose connection somewhere ok?

My toshiba A200 screen occasionally turns black and music also stops. When i try manually restarting my laptop, sometimes it works but most of the time it doesnt boot at all. Sometimes it doesnt even go...

This sounds like a hard drive is, or has failed. Either that or the RAM (memory has gone bad)
Did you let the laptop overheat? Was it left on for a long time? Or is this just an old machine ?
I would replace the hard drive, and reload the operating system, that is if you really want to keep the laptop. If that solves it great! Also, did you notice if there are any "beep" noises, or error messages when it acts up? Often times, you can go on the internet and find out what the messages mean.

Toshiba Satellite P200 doesn't boot

Try pressing FN/F5 keys simultaneously, or the key that toggles internal/external Display. Look for the double screen Icons on the keys.

Tap the Pause Key.

Restart and press and hold F8 key when Toshiba logo appears. When the boot Menu appears, select Last Known Good Configuration.

If all else fails ther should be a reset button on the side of the LT. Consult owners Manual for location
