Whirlpool gold refrigerator model GR2SHTXKQ01 dispenser located inside refrigerator leaks
Water valves leak like a leaking faucet sometimes. They just will not close all the way allowing water to bypass the valve and either drip at dispenser or drip and make a mess in freezer. Your model takes a=> 2219592 Water Valve - Dual Outlet
Change the dual water control valve and I believe this will solve this problem, Thanks Sea Breeze

I had the same problem and it appear the cable set between the freezer door and refrigerator body has some wires broken. The cable is in the bottom right hinge. You can try moving the cable with fingers at the same time you're pushing the water lever.
While this is not going to be a permanent fix, at least it confirm where the problem is.

you have a frozen or blocked defrost drain behind the back panel with the vents in it remove the panel and clear the drain at the bottom in the silver pan

some thing could be toching the fan at the back of the fridge or freeze fan making noise

If it's flooding, it's NOT the drain pan. It's probably the water valve has gotten stuck in the open position. Hope this helps!

Thanks John, I'll try that.
John,
FYI, I took back panel off, its part number 2219594. i checked the ohms and the meter reads 0. Thanks, I'll order a new valve.

I replaced the valve and there were no droplets of water for the first hour. Now there appears a droplet just as there was before relacing the valve. Could it be due to air in the system? Could I relieve that by turning the valve that I originally inserted into the copper pipe leading to the refrigerator, when I first hooked up the system? Thanks.
I am not sure what is going on here. The control valve that you replaced is the only thing that turns water on and off after using. Yes air in the system has been known to cause water to drip and flushing the air out of the system should stop the water from dripping. Turning the water valve off at the location you mentioned will stop all water from coming out but will not fix the leak. Flush any air that may be caught in the system and let's see how that works, Thanks John Tripp
John, How is air flushed from the system?
You can flush a water system by dispensing water into a container for a few minutes like you would after changing the water filter. How long has this dripping water been a problem? Now I find there has been a lot of complaints about the coil type water storage your model has. Many technicians believe if your model that has to coil cooler is removed and the tank type replaced it would stop this problem. Read the PDF at link below.

1) 2305226- tank-style reservoir, 2) 2314271- 1/4" check valve connector( for bottom of door) 3) 8201815- 5/16" check valve connector( for outlet side of reservoir) These are the part numbers for the tank type water storage, Thanks JT
John, whemn I look up this check valve connector it is shown for a Kenmore stove, not refrigerator.
These parts don't have to be refrigerator parts. Look for parts that will fit from places like Lowes or Home Depot The part numbers may be different so all they need to do is snap on to the water lines. ...JT
