Assembled this a few years back. Presently all function/motions work and all assembly instructions ok. However the head generally flops loose left to right. When motions stop head rotates (floppy) to left.
Seems like the torsion springs are doing nothing though I can't find where may "hook up" differently or anything that looks broken
There is a smaller "u" shaped spring in the middle of the neck mechanism that I found one side was snapped off. Looks normal, but it's broken. I made one out of a coat hanger for temporary purposes and it works like new! I will order one from Hasbro. Hope this helps!
I purchased a used Furreal pony. The head seemed to flop a lot to the left and had a hard time turning the head/neck more to the right or looking straight ahead. I opened up the neck and found everything looked to be in order but did discover that the wires that connect to the body were pulled tight. I pulled the wires so there would be more slack in the neck. Now the pony's neck & head seem to be working normal. Check and make sure there wires in the neck are not pulled tight, this may be an easy fix for you.
If neither of the abouve work, I just padded the inside of the neck with a couple of towels; it absorbs the shock of moving side to side that the broken part use to catch. Works like new!
Head hangs loosely when power is off or horse is not actively engaged by sensor activation.

I seem to have the very same problem with the pony I assembled on Christmas eve. The head soesn't seem to turn correctly. All other movements are good.
A floppy head and snapping sounds when the head turns.
floppy head and snapping sounds like ratchet problem anyone no of repair service?
Smores Pony: Worked fine for only a few hours, then head became stuck turned toward the left. Sounds like the a motor is activating but the head will not rotate back to the right. Unzipped neck but nothing appears broken and all connections appear to be OK.
Same problem here. Butterscotch worked fine when Santa left her but yesterday her head began flopping to the left. We got her off Craig's list so we don't have a manual.
