Should I be able to see water in the tub of my Kenmore 796.4027 washer?

New washer model 796-4027. In my last front load Kenmore, you could see water in the bottom of the tub - at least a few inches of water. In my new machine - you can't see any water at all in hte bottom as the clothes rotate around. But they are all wet. They just aren't soaked like I'm used to seeing. Should I be able to see water in the bottom of the tub or not? The machine does make a little whining noise as it puts water in - and it seems to put it in in spurts. I have around 70 psi in my pipes - so I have very good flow. Also, there are no error codes showing.

Different machine
the water spurts are operating as the drum rotates so that the clothes are evenly wet before the wash process begins
could be designed to use less water than previous models
make sure that the drain hose is at the correct level or all of the water will drain out
talk with a service agent and read the user manual for the operations and what can be expected

SOURCE: When cyle is finish clothes are still soaking wet

Sounds like a slow drain. Recheck the drain hose if it looks ok get a bucket to put the hose in to see how fast it comes out. If it comes out slow the drain pump impellor may be broken.

SOURCE: maytag neptune front loader washer has NF error code

Does it agitate and does the door lock light come on? Theres a panel on the back you can take off via 4 screws. Here you can check the belt and watch to see if it spins or moves at all. If the door lock light comes on, and you here the door click. Than chances are your motor control board is bad. Seen this many times. Im actually replacing one tomorrow on the exact washer.I believe the part # is 22004045. Heres a diagram. If the door doesnt lock than you need either a lock assy or a new computer for it. The computer is in the top panel where the timer is. If you look at it you should see a burnt resistor. If no burnt resistor than its more likely th lock assy. Ill try and find the part # for the lock and computer, and a digram. Hope this helps. Dave www.washermd.com

SOURCE: Washer wont fill with water/clothes dont get clean

Actually the machine is working like it is designed. When the correct soap is used, these machines clean clothes better than the old style. Try using a major brand of soap like Tide, Bold, or Cheer. Make sure it has the HE design on the bottle. This means that it is made just for the new High Efficiency machines. Also make sure you don't use to much. Read the directions. If this is done correctly, I'm sure you will find that it does clean great. I was like you when I first saw one of these new machines. "These is no way you can clean dirty and I mean dirty clothes without enough water to cover them. Well since, I have became a believer. They have put a lot of thought into designing these things. They had to of, for them to clean as good as they do.

SOURCE: Kenmore 20422 leaves water and clothes soaked after spin cycle

This assumes that you have a basic Kenmore / Whirlpool top load, direct drive, neutral drain (it doesn't spin until the pump removes most of the water) machine.

First, see the Sears parts site for your washer:
http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/index.action

Enter your model number (###.########) and you'll see a list of major sub-components with diagrams and parts.

Initial thoughts point to one of two places.

1. It's possible that your pump and/or hoses are clogged.

2. It is also possible that the "Motor coupler" between the motor and transmission is worn and cannot provide full power to the tub when agitating.

See the following illustrated descriptions of how to access the pump and motor coupler.

If either is bad or worn, they aren't all that expensive.

I doubt that the problem is the motor since the machine will agitate and spin.

My water meter says my front load Kenmore washer, model He 4t from 2016, is using 530 gallons for a heavy load. How is that possible?

On average, washing machines use 19 gallons of water per load, and the average household runs between 5 and 6 loads per week. Based on those figures, most washers use up to 5,605 gallons of water annually.
Front-load washers use an average of 12.5 gallons of water per load, while top-load washers average 19.6 gallons per load. Older top-load models manufactured decades ago use 40 or more gallons of water per load.

Possibly reading the meter incorrectly...

My 1.5" water line to fill my pool puts out 12 gallons a minute
it would take 45 minutes running full out to put out 530 gallons.

Best to you.

I have a kenmore elite HE5t steam front load washer that keeps putting up f20 error the water lines are not plugged water is flowing into it i moved it out to check the water lines and it ran 3 loads then...

I've seen this complaint 5-6 times within the last month. Try this. Remove the top panel by removing the three screws along the back and pushing the panel back and then lifting up. Locate the pressure sensor mounted on the right side of the machine. Check the pressure sensor hose very carefully for splits or cracks caused by chafing on the tub. You really need to look closely, it only takes a tiny pin hole. If damaged, replace hose and make sure the new hose is routed properly, not taped to the tub as some of the new ones have been for some reason.

Maytag Neptune Front Load Washer Model MAH4000AWW low last spin

two problems here,
your shaft seal is running on its last leg
the sound is unmistakeable and always described the same...
the water issue, you probably have a trickle leak through the cold water valve
the mixing valve is quite an easy repair, but I would have to say with all honesty, it probably time for a new machine
the hub seal is a tub replacment call
2 hrs of labor if hes good
and the tub runs around 500.00 dollars
sory for the bad news

WASHER WILL NOT DRAIN WATER KENMORE WASHER APPROX 9 YRS OLD

Does the tub spin without draining?

This JUST happened to me last night. Opened washer after a load and still full of water. Fifteen spins later, still about an inch of water in tub...
RepairClinic.com suggests checking the hoses from the washer tub to the drain pump for anything clogged in it. (WARNING!!! As soon as you remove one end of the hose ANY water remaining in the tub will come RUSHING out if not clogged. I was prepared for water, but not a rush of water.)
If there is no clog in that hose, remove the drain pump and check for something in it.
(My pump was burning up because some how a plastic stick got into it. I am waiting on the new pump now.)
If there is nothing in the first hose or the pump, see if anything is in the hose leading to the drain.

If not, they suggested something either purchasing a new pump as it may have quit working or something may have gotten stuck in between the tubs. This requires tearing apart and sometimes special tools.

Washer wont stop filling

There is probably a plastic tube running from the tub to a pressure switch which controls the water level cutoff on control panel. One can locate this by taking the backcover off and looking at the water level switch and following the tube to the connection on the tub. Tube must fit on level switch tightly for it to work properly.

Kenmore 42990 front loading washer

If this is a 417 model your problem might be the pump itself. There is a pressure switch that detects whether or not there is any water left in the tub. If so, it will not go into high spin. Remove the lower panel and check the pump on the lower right side. See if there is any gunk or coins in there by removing the hoses attached to it. Have a flat pan or a bunch of towells ready to catch the remaining water from the tub. If the pump checks ok, the next move would be to check the motor controller itself.
