I have to tug and tug to pull open the freezer and also the sliding rack that holds the ice bin. The glide rails look frozen. I've already had repairman out who replaced the original glide rails but these are doing the same thing.

After several hours working and moving the door, I was able to slide open the door. Found out that the ice maker was leaking and the water was in the bottom an it frozen and that was stopping the door to open.

I replaced my "entire" ice cube maker (tube, hoses, water pump, ice maker) and it still pooled water at the bottom. I removed the back panel in the freezer and noticed the ciols go through a defrost cycle and water forms in tray under coils. I removed the lower panel on rear of fridge -and found a drain hose near the water solenoid/pump. I blew compressed air into the hose and hopefully unblocked it so it can drain into the pan not the freezer.

Has something fallen behind the drawer, and is preventing it from sliding back all the way? Remove the drawer by pulling it all the way out and lift it up and out. Look for anything that has fallen back there.

The adjusta cube ice maker has an on/off switch. To stop the ice from overfilling and being knocked off when you open the freezer door turn the ice maker off and then back on as needed.

We just had a similar problem with our Maytag side-by-side in the bottom of the freezer. Just as you described...sort of a glacier on the floor of the freezer that slowly melts toward the door. After several attempts to remove the ice, only to have it form again, my husband spoke with a helpful sales person in an appliance center. He said there's a drainage plug/line on the back that's supposed to funnel condensation to the evaporation tray underneath. It gets clogged and frozen. Sure enough...my husband pulled out the freezer, opened the visible line and it was all frozen and full of gunk. He had to use a hair dryer to thaw it out, then flushed it. It was amazing how much stuff came out of there. We've had no more problem since.

Doris, I don't know if your problem has been resolved, if not, try this....Unplug, remove food, then remove front of door, 2 or 4 screws from inside... Thoroughly defrost and dry rails, a hair dryer will help... Then spray the rails with a silicone based say, no need to saturate but give them a good hefty coating... Unfortunately this may have to been done periodically, once a year or so... Final tip, try to get into a habit of giving the door a push after it is closed just to be sure... Many of the new ref's need to be defrosted to clear out ice and moisture from the air an return ducts on a yearly basis... Good luck, Gary
