GE PROFILE PSS26msrd Ice maker not working water dispensor ok new water valve new filter fill tube seems clear Does anybody have any sugestions before i replace the ice maker unit?

sometimes the water line in the back wall of freezer will freeze up so the water will not run into ice tray try using a hair dryer to heat the back wall long enough to thaw it out then turn freezer control down some..

Is the freezer cold enough? Should be close to 10 degrees.
Is there water or ice in the ice mold? If not put water in it and see if it dumps the ice after it’s frozen. If there is ice, lift the cut off arm and let it drop to see if it will start.
If it does dump the ice but don’t refill with water.
Try swapping the wires on the dual water inlet valve. It’s on the back where the water supply comes in. Then try the water dispenser. The water should go to the ice maker. This will tell you weather or not the ice maker valve is working and if the line is clear.

The water inlet valve on the back of unit opens when the ice maker needs water. If the valve doesn't seal good because of sediment or wear it will continue to drip and when the water reaches the ice maker supply tube it will freeze blocking the fill tube.. You can take the water line off the valve and watch to see if it drips.

What you think is probably correct. Water valves can seep water and freeze the fill tube. Remove the ice maker and the fill tube remove ice from the fill tube and replace the water valve.

Check for a blocked frozen fill tube at the ice maker. Very common. Make sure you have good water pressure at the water dispensor. If it takes a long time to fill a glass you need to either change your water filter if your fridge has one or make sure your water supply valve located at the other end of the water line is not plugged. If all this checks ok, you may need a new solinoid valve on the refrigerator.

OK, that should be no problem. Test your ice maker and fill with water if empty of ice. If full of ice and not moving to dump tell me. I need to help you locate the problem doing that and answering will tell me the problem. Common problem. Remove ice maker, and make sure tube fits all the way to the rear and seats properly.
Then reinstall ice maker and telescope front part of file tube until it fits into ice ice maker properly. (retaining clip in place).
For the cost, a new fill tube makes sense. Also.........
If the water valve leaks slightly after shutting off during a fill cycle, a plug of ice will build up inside the the fill tube, pushing it off on the next fill cycle. Requires installing a new water valve.

The common connection between the two starts at the water fill valve. I have found also that the filter (water) if clogged, will prevent water flow to both. Change the filter first, cheapest and eaisest.

Did you use the correct filter?

Remove filter, and re-install. Make sure you have properly locked the filter into place as the locking mechanism assures the filter cut off valve opens.

Also, make sure any air was purged from the water circuit by holding the water valve open for a short period of time.

ok try this for me and let me know how it works there is a water tank in the fridge and on installation you have to hold down the water for about 5mins to fill it up now the ice disp will be a separate issue hold my rating and let me know if your water flowes first
