Turn on wireless

Hello everyone, I am hoping someone can help me with this problem. My father's laptop all of a sudden comes up with this message Wireless is Turned off! the wireless devices on your computer are turned off. to turn on the wireless devices, press the wireless button. Simple enough, the wireless button is F12, we press it and nothing works. Still the same problem. I run a trouble shoot and once again windows network diagnostics tells me Turn on wireless capability. Please help.

SOURCE: i cannot turn on my wireless capability

To the satellite E105 S1402 with WiFi problems. The solution is:

1. Make sure that your router is operational.
2. Make sure that the WiFi switch is on.
3. If your Wifi used to work out of the box, then you need to buy a Flash Drive (if you don't already own one), then you need to do a Backup of all your users documents on the Laptop.
4. Use the CD's that came in the box to re-install Vista 64.

Don't waste time with Toshiba support, you will end up in Phillipines and quite honestly, I am shocked that Toshiba does not have a better support process.

I had the same problem and I had to re-install the OS. It is not that painfull to do and should take about 1/2 hour.

Cons: You have to re-install additional software that you installed after purchasing your laptop.

My Fathers toshiba turns on for a few seconds (with lights, fan, and a all black screen) then suddenly just turns of!!! What do i do??? HELP

If your laptop appears to boot up and the hard disk LED flashes, then the problem is probably a back light fault. This can be a faulty inverter or a faulty CCFL lamp. Please click on this link and follow my instructions to identify the fault and possible fix :- http://www.fixya.com/support/r3598095-faulty_laptop_lcd_screen

Aswell as my daughter I've installed the drivers (Vista and 7) of the Lexmark x4550 wireless, but she can only print when my laptop is 'on'. How can she print without the use of my laptop.

Hello,
All you need to do is to remove the printer currently added on your daughter's laptop(most likely it is the printer installed on your laptop)and then add the lexmark printer manually on your daughters laptop. Make sure when you do this your laptop is turned off. If this won't work, that means that the laptop of your daughter does not detect the wireless printer.
hope this helps...

Hi,

Improve the Fixya.com experience for everyone by voting!

The solution I'm suggesting works in my business (LAN installations) about 95% of the time. I trust that it will work for you.

Let's see if I can help you.

Begin by turning on your computer and your router

? Open Internet Explorer;
? Click on 'Tools';
? Click on 'Internet Options';
? Click on 'Connections';
? Click on 'Setup'
? Click on 'I want to set up my Internet connections manually . . .';
? Click on 'Next';
? Click on 'I connect through a local area network (LAN);
? Clock on 'Next'
? Click on 'Next' [This is not an error];
? Click on 'No';
? Click on 'Next';
? Click on 'To connect to the Internet immediately . . .; and,
? Click on 'Finish'.

That should have you online

All the best
