I want to know what is the default BIOS setting for this? ia am having CMOS CHECKSUM BAD Error and i am suspecting that BIOS setting has been changed.
The CMOS Checksum Bad Error during the pre-booting process only indicates that the CMOS battery is exhausted and it can not no longer save the current BIOS settings, Time settings and many more things.
The first and and the only way, according to me, to solve this problem is to replace the CMOS battery.
Please let us know, if this solution have helped you.
Hope this helps, Mrityunjay.

Its due to your default CMOS setup does not match with your CPU configuration especially with CPU speed.
Good Luck

SOURCE: Cannot change cmos settings.
Try this.
Open case somewhere on motherboard will be (reset BIOS) or word to that effect. it will be a small 2 pin connector with a jumper on 1 pin connect the jumper across both pins for 30 seconds remove jumper fit back over 1 pin (not get lost) reboot your BIOS should have reset to default hope this helps post comment if does please

Normally Checksum errors mean that the Battery on the board may not be holding a charge any longer. Best suggestion that I can give is to replace that battery. You can buy it in any electronics store. Just make sure to buy one with the EXACT same size. If that still does not work you may ahve to update your BIOS you can message me about that.

Unless the manufacturer specifically asks that you make changes to your BIOS, you are OFF LIMITS, so HANDS OFF. If what you refer to is the "setup", you may open it and make whatever particular changes you need. Remember that as a rule setup changes are applied automatically, usually by F10. If you make a mistake you can return to the factory settings usually by F7. These keys are not always the same, but when you open the setup you will see them.NOW ANOTHER SUBJECT: To increase the transmission and reception speed, computer circuit designers have resorted to four wires for send/receive. In BINARY ARITHMETIC you only have a switch and it can be on or off (0/1). This means that Binary leands itself to computer that are made of millions of switches and all of them can be on or off (0/1). Someone began to refer to the powers of 2 as bits. By the time personal computers came around they were using 4 wires to simultaneously send/receive, known as 2 to the 4th power or 8 bits. There are not too many such computers left in service. When the demand for speed increased they went to 16 and then 32, which for many years was sort of a standard. I believe that about 5 years ago they decided to go to 64 bit technology. Now the manufacturers are trying to convince the users that 32 bit is old and obsolete and we should get rid of our computers and get new ones with 64 bit. But our computers with 32 bit are beautiful and perform quite fast and we are in a recesion, people don't have the money... So, for the time being, they make their programs in both 32 and 64 bitts. Are we ever to need 64 bit? Who knows. This industry is of high obsolence... Let me know what decisions you made...

Hi,
step 1: 1st change your Cmos battery
step 2: goto cmos setup, change your cpu speed, what speed of cpu are you using and what mhz of
your cpu.
step 3: save your setup and restart your computer... i hope u will get rid of this problem.
Note:-
------
if you give me your system detail i can explain more better than this...
what is your system configuration:
P1 or P2 or P3 or P4 or Intel Dual Core or Core 2 Duo
Cpu speed : 150mhz or 200mhz or 500mhz or 800mhz or 1Ghz or 2.2Ghz or 3Ghz
Mother board : Intel Pentium or Sis or Via or Mercury or Asus etc....
mail me your configuration : [email protected]
