Recently hooked up my Sony Blu-Ray (BDP-BX1) to my Yamaha RX-V663 7.1 Channel Receiver and I get audio but no video. The system is connected to a Panasonic projection unit. When I switch to S-Component hook-up for audio and video it works fine, but want to use HDMI hook-up.
Okay...my first contribution to any forum but I have the same problem (Yamaha RX-V663 and Samsung Blu Ray) and found the solution. The problem is you probably have your HDMI cables from your DVD player and reciever connected to a DVI input on your TV. The DVI may have problems communicating--not HDCP compliant. My system was working great then I hit a button on my remote...just playing around. I think it was the pure audio and I turned off the receiver. After that, the audio worked but there was no video. After many frustrating hours, the fix was to unplug the HDMI and DVI cable then turn the power off, cycle the power again, and plug the HDMI and DVI cables back in (the DVI was the last cable plugged in, not sure if that matters). By unplugging everthing you've reset the communication between the HDMI components and the DVI TV.
See page 18 of the yamaha owners manual, second to last note on bottom right of the page. It says there may be a problem...
I also noticed that the yamaha reciever was sending 1080p (my older tv is 1080I) and that is why the video wouldn't display on the TV. You can see this in the video signal info screen, unfortunately there is no setting to switch it back, just recycle the cables and power and it should reset.
Uncredibly frustrating but I got my picture back!

Thank you sooooo much!! Suddenly, my 73" Mitsubishi DLP no longer had video when trying to watch a DVD using our Samsung Blu Ray player. I powered off the tv for a couple of minutes and unplugged Blu Ray player. I plugged Blu Ray back in, powered it up, powered on tv and VOILA!! You saved me hours of frustration and the price of a new Blu Ray player!! THANK YOU!!!!!!

I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. HOWEVER I AM USING A ONKYO RECEIVER.
I have the same receiver and a Sony Blu-Ray Player. We also have a Toshiba 52 inch HDTV DLP Television. The other night while watching a DVD we must have hit a button on the remote for the receiver (but do not think so) because we have had to re-set the HDMI Cables twice in less than a week. The picture goes blank but audio works. We believe the problem is with the receiver. While watching TV we can sometimes get the picture back switching between scenes on the receiver remote. Sometimes not. Any help? But I believe we have the same problem. Also reading about similar problems with PS3 players.
