Sounds like it is trying to boot from a lan or someplace other than your
hard drive. Make sure you don't have a music cd or movie dvd in the
cd/dvd drive. Turn the computer off then turn it back on and the screen
for which key it says to hit to Change The Boot Sequence or Boot Order,
then hit that key. You have to hit the key when you see the message or
it will not work and you will have to reboot and start over. Select the
Hard Drive as the boot device and let it boot up. If you are
successful then each time you boot you will need to do this process
unless you make it a permanent change.
To make a permanent change to the boot process turn the computer off,
then turn it back on and watch the screen for which key it says to hit
to get into the Bios or System Setup, then hit that key. You have to
hit the key when you see the message or it will not work and you will
have to restart and boot again. Once you are in the Bios or System
Setup look for any reference to Boot, Boot Sequence or Boot Order. It
might be a tab you you select at the top of the window. Change the boot
order to CD\DvD as 1st and the Hard Drive as 2nd. This is the normal
boot order so that if anything goes wrong with the hard drive, you can
boot from the cd/dvd by putting in a repair disk or operating system
disk. Just make sure you don't have a music cd, movie dvd or anything
in the cd/dvd drive when you boot. Save the settings and exit the Bios
or System Setup and Reboot.
