If you wish to get some details; visit the site linked here. Pull up older posts. To make it a hard reset, just unplug the device from AC mains wall socket, and re-plug it back after 15 minutes or so. If you do this by overnight is better. This procedure will make it a hard reset. If you want to make it a system reset [Factory Reset]; you have to enter its service mode option, and select the factory reset option. These are the following steps to reset your Denon receiver:
1. Save the information currently stored in your Denon receiver, such as device commands and multi-zone controls. Some Denon receivers can control multiple rooms and each room needs to be setup properly to provide the correct controls. If the receiver was installed professionally it may be best to contact the installer before resetting the device.

2.Press the "Power" button or the "On/ Standby" button to shut off the receiver. On some receivers it is best to press the button on the device instead of the remote as the remote will normally put the receiver in standby mode. Ensure the display and all other lights on the device are off. Do not unplug the Denon receiver as it will not reset.

3.Press the "Power" button and at the same time press two buttons on the front panel, which are determined by the model Denon you own. Most receivers identify the two buttons inside the user's manual, while some older Denon receivers require you contact Denon for the right button combination. For example, some Denon models require the "Standard" and "DSP Simulation" buttons to be pressed simultaneously.

4.The display will start flashing at about one second intervals. Release the two buttons. Turn on the receiver by pressing the "Power" or the "On/ Standby" button to verify the previous settings and saved radio stations have been erased. If the interface does not flash, the reset was not complete and needs to be re-done. Re-enter the previous settings to ensure there are no further issues with the receiver.

SOURCE: I have this DENON AVR4800, and there is no osd.

You need to use the monitor output on the denon and go to a video input on your tv, be sure the tv is set to the video input you plugged into on the tv input, then take the denon remote and hit the setup button, should show a on-screen setup

I have a Denon AVR4800 thx receiver has power no sound.

Check the speaker terminals. If they are crossed. You may have activated the overload circuits. also you may have too high ohm speakers. Connect 8 ohm speaker and try again. Make sure wires are correct + to + and - to - on both ends. If you have all this it should work. Good luck.

Denon Avr-3200 Dolby Digital not working

What I suggest is that you reset the receiver as you mentioned. If you look in your owner's, there will be a procedure that says, "Return to factory default, or Reset" I believe you have it set wrong, or are not providing it with Dolby Digial signal. Dolby Digital, is not processed by the DSP board(Digital Sound Processor), which handles the THX, Neo, and every other format. Dolby Digital, is one of the earliest form of Home Theater. It has to be processed through the 2 RCA jacks(left and right). It is really not used anymore, in light of Dolby Pro Logic, THX and others.

How do i connect my denon RC7000CI to denon amp. 2801

I cannot access the setup menu on the unit display or via the s-video monitor out -- everything was working fine a few days ago. I have reset micro, unplugged all night, reset again, and still cannot get to the menu in order to correct connections, esp for digital. My problem is on the avr5600 but seems like this happens on many of the denon units

My Denon AVR 2106 gives sound out periodically in all modes

So you have no sound on any Inputs?  This makes a difference, if it works on some inputs but not others.  For a factory reset - turn the unit off by the ON/OFF button (not the standby button) hold in the SPEAkER A & B buttons at the smae time, while pressing them turn the system on by the ON/OFF button, wait about 3 seconds and the unit should reset everything.
