I run Vista 64 bit with no issues at all. 64 bit is the future of the computer world. If software is made to utilize 64 bit operating systems the speed is quite remarkable. 64 bit Vista is still backward compatible with 32 bit so virtually all programs except for the oldest legacy stuff. Also 64 bit allows you to surpass 32 bit's 3 gigabyte memory barrier. Vista 64 can use up to 128 gigabytes. It may not seem important now ,but at the rate computers evolve it will.

We have p3 32 bit primvera s/w but laptop is 64 bit so how can i install it in my 64bit laptop. pls. solve

Hi shuklapawan,
I looked for the specs on the software but could not find the system requirements. You might want to call Oracle and ask if the software is compatible with your Operating Sysytem (Vista, Windows 7). The phone number is 1-800-423-0245 While I was unable to find the official system requirements for Primavera's P3, from the few article I read on it, I don't believe that it is Vista or Windows 7 compatible. Also it is not really a 32 bit 64 bit issue, 64 bit systems run 32 bit software all the time, in fact there are many more 32 bit programs running on 64 bit systems than 64 bit software, due largely to the fact that the software companies are are just now starting to program 64 bit software. This is an Operating System compatibility issue. If you absolutely have to run P3, you might consider installing XP as an additional OS on your HDD with duel booting and running P3 in XP. Hope this helps

Have a Dell XPS 410 with 32 OS. Want to upgrade to a 64 OS. Need info

With the 410, you will need much more RAM before having a 64 bit OS becomes useful. I assume that you have the default 2GB. In any case, all you need is to buy a x64 OS and install it.

I have installed 4 GB of RAM but it only shows 3 GB RAM

Any 32bit OS can only read up to 3.5GB of RAM. In order to read additional ram you must have a 64BIT OS.

Dell 924 printer won't work on vista OS

First, here is a link to the vista 32 bit drivers. Install these drivers if you have not installed them before.

Second, if you are using Vista 64 bit, Dell does not make a driver for the 64 bit O/S. You can re-install your Vista to 32 bit or buy a printer that is compatible with 64 bit O/S

Dell Dimension XPS PC Desktop won't boot

Hi,

Vista is available in 32 and 64 bit os.
if your system ran xp which was most likely 32 bit. And you have installed a 64 bit version os.
this will be your problem, also Vista requires more system RAM/Memory to run it.
If you get 1 beep at startup, it states the system is ok.
Alternatives are device drivers incompatability.
Check M$ website, regarding vistas minimum system requirements.

Software incompatibility on my acer aspire6930-6455

Well, we wont know until you try. In my opinion, your 32/64 bit issues will be solved, but you would still have the normal vista/xp compatibility issues.

But that is to be expected, like when we all upgraded from win98 to XP.

So - I would recommend downgrading to Vista 32 bit, or getting the 64bit software version of the programs you want to use.

Good Luck, and let me know what you did, and how it turned out! :)

Windows vista

Hi-

Epson supports windows vista 32 bit and 64 bit, thats the difference between basic and premium, there are hardwares that vista doesnt support so i cant realy tell which one, best thing is you call microsoft so that you'll have a detailed information regarding compatibilities and i think on vista there is a compatibility test so that you'll know if hardware and software will work on it, check if you have 32 or 64 bit edition, go to control panel and go to systems. ask dell as well if the wireless adapter that you are using will work on their device. Have a nice day!!!
