Maytag washing machine model MVWC300XW I've only had it a month. When you press start button green sensor light goes on as well as red lid lock light. Now in the past 5 days, when you press start, green sensor light goes on, but red lid lock comes on too, but about 10 seconds in, the red light starts to blink, the washer unlocks, then the red light goes on again, and re-locks, and then it continues?? I NEVER saw it do this double lock and red light blinking before, it just started doing that.
Its normal for the machine to cycle the lock before starting its cycle. I'm assuming your machine is a bravos style.

make sure to test the lid switch assembly, you can jump it to test it. If the
lid switch and motor is also fine then the control board should be replaced.

I am having the same issue and hope someone can post a solution. I have found a work around though. Mine does it when it is on a 'Regular' wash cycle, I found that if I put it on Permanent Press it works fine.

It doesn't matter now. Apparently, there is something more serious going on, since last night, the washer leaked all over my basement. Keep in mind, I have no children, and the washer is a month old. I contacted the place I bought it from, and they are sending someone out tomorrow 6/2/12. I told them that if it needs more than one hose, I want a new washer. Thanks, anyway. :(
No, it's a Centennial. But as I said we had to have a technician come out and check, why it leaked. And it was the hoses in the back, the washer warped, after only one month????? But he did put a tester, on the sensors, and what you said Jason Kennidy is correct. Thanks
