Hi

Which clip do I unscrew for the filter which I gather is the black plastic thing and does it go back on easily. The water is not emptying properly and I am having to put the Fast Spin on to clear it do you think it could be the filter needs clearing?

Thanks Louise

Have u put the outlet hose to the floor to c if the hose is blocked if the water comes out then it could be your pump if it doesnt then take the washer outside cause when u do take the sump hose off it will flood your kitchen the clip is a screw clip at the top off the sump hose which is close to the middle of the outer drum

Hotpoint washer not rinsing

If it is at the rinse or spin cycle it could be something trapped in the pump, for the water can't drain quickly enough when the machine starts to spin & the water gets forced back up through the soap dispenser as there is nowhere else for it to go. Check your filter too.

The filter is located behind the silver plate at the back of the machine at the bottom. Four screws hold it on. The filter is inside the big black rubber hose attached between the pump and the main drum. Remove the plastic clip holding it to the pump unit and then the metal cir clip holding it to the main drum. In side is a white molded cone and a big white ball which floats in side. You will find a lot of junk here, clean out. To refit put white cone back inside just as you found it, at the bottom, fit ball back into the cone. Attach to the bottom to the drum and re-fasten the cir clip. Finally reconnect the gator to the pump unit and tighten the plastic clip.

Try this out, it's for another hotpoint model:
The filter is located behind the silver plate at the back of the machine at the bottom. Four screws hold it on. The filter is inside the big black rubber hose attached between the pump and the main drum. Remove the plastic clip holding it to the pump unit and then the metal cir clip holding it to the main drum. In side is a white molded cone and a big white ball which floats in side.
