My ge side by side not cooling, freezer act like fridge

My ge side by side is not cooling properly. Th fridge side is basically at room temp and the freezer side is at what would normally be the temp of the fridge. Both thermostats are maxed out and there still isn't any proper cooling.

GE Profile Refridgerator side warm, freezer ok?

Fridge gets cold air from freezer to cool it. Your freezer is fine but not enough cold air is getting into fridge compartment. U have some dampers or louvers that direct air flow to fridge and if they are not set properly cooling will not be adequate. Check those out.

The freezer is cool but not freezing, the food is mushy.

Either temperature not set to required cooling OR the fridge or freezer door not closed properly, OR the weak compressor.----------- The problem can be temperature not set properly or any of fridge or freezer door not closed properly and cool air is getting leaked out. This are basic possibilities which first needs to be checked. But if this possibilities are checked ok and still the problem is same, then its weak compressor issue. Both the freezer and the fridge are not cooling. I can hear the motor running and air being blown to the fridge from the freezer side. Thanks for your help.

Frig side does not cool. freezer side cools

The fridge gets its cold air from the freezer through a vent(damper) between the freezer and fridge. The fan in the freezer blows air through it. Make sure this fan is running. You may have to hold the door switch in for it to run. There is a flap you adjust with the fridge temp. control. Make sure it's opening and closing when you adjust the fridge temp.
The problem could be the electronic control if you have one or the mechanical linkages.

Can a refrigerator be placed in a garage that houses the electric furnace?

Hi, all fridge freezers work on ambient room temperatures, ie room temperature. Also it will depend on the classification of your fridge freezer. On a normal classification fr/free 70 degrees should be a constant maximum. On a sub normal classification room temp should not exceed 50 degrees. on a sub tropical room temp can be pretty much as warm as you like. On the rating plate inside your fridge freezer two small letters exist (N) normal. (SN) sub normal. (ST) sub tropical. Most fridges will work for a while in the wrong temp but will work too hard and pack up

GE model TFX22R ice maker problem

First clean out the condensor coils. If you have pets it should be done at least 3 times a year. The other possible problem is if the gasket in either the fridge or freezer is worn out or has a gap it will not cool properly. Check that the fan underneath the unit by the condensor coils is running when the compressor is . Some smaller refrigerators have only condensor coils on the back and no fan. These units should have room for air flow on top and sides not built in flush with cabinets. Buy a thermometer for both the fridge and freezer compartments. You run the risk of food poisoning if the fridge temp can not be kept below 40 degrees. Freezer temp should be able to keep at least 0 - 5 degrees. (Ice cream is a very good indication of proper temp. It is the first thing that melts. Ice maker is a close 2nd.)

If these things don't work call for repair. Don't risk losing all your food!
