It sounds like the ice maker's feeler arm or sensor is not functioning properly. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try:
Check the feeler arm: The feeler arm is a metal wire that extends from the ice maker and should be resting on top of the ice in the ice bucket. Make sure it is not stuck or blocked in any way. If it is, adjust it so that it can move freely.
Check the sensor: Some ice makers have an infrared sensor instead of a feeler arm. Make sure this is clean and not obstructed in any way.
Reset the ice maker: You can reset the ice maker by unplugging the refrigerator for a few minutes and then plugging it back in. This may help to reset any electronic issues that could be causing the problem.
Replace the ice maker: If none of the above steps work, it may be time to replace the ice maker. You can purchase a replacement ice maker from your local appliance store or online.
Remember to always refer to your owner's manual or consult with a professional if you are unsure about performing any repairs on your appliance.
Is it coming from inside fridge compartment or freezer compartment or from outside back. If it is from freezer compartment and you have no water line connected to ice maker. Then it might be just your ice maker trying to go into fake harvesting mode. Make sure the Icemaker is off. Icemaker arm should be up.
It may be the arm in the ice maker is down. Even though the ice maker does not have the water hooked up if the arm above the ice bin is down it will still cycle the ice maker try lifting up the arm it should stay up this signals the ice maker that the bin is full and should shut off the ice maker. Hope this helps.
water line hooked up,open door to ice maker check to see ice maker metal arm where cubes fall down from is in the down position,,when its in the up position it stops making ice,no water coming inalso u can change water filter in fridge this way too,it will not let water in until arm is back down
Even if you do not have the water hooked up for the dispenser and ice maker, the fridge still makes the sound as if it is filling up the ice maker. If you lift the metal arm beside the ice maker, the sound stops happening because it thinks that the ice bucket is full.
you can reinsert the bail arm back into the icemaker by feel or remove the icemaker and reinsert it. I'm going to give you instructions with the ice maker still mounted to the wall. on the back upper right hand corner of you ice maker you will you will feel a square shped hole at the top. right below this hole is our target. you can use a small mirror to locate this area you will see a white oblong hole that the bail arm end will be inserted into. since the icemaker is not working the arm will ahve to be inserted with the arm in the up position. when you insert the arm you need to do so firmly to make sure the arm goes in all the way. if you cant find the corret spot write me back and I'll walk you through removing the i/m to insert teh arm that way.
hi. thanks for the question. because the door was left open . moisture got into the small tube that lets water in to the ice maker.. and froze. use hair dryer to thaw the tube. remove and clean. thanks the appliance doc. please rate me
I found I get a odd clicking noise whenever the icecubes freeze inside of the box in the top left. You'll see about 20 little fingers, arms, or whatever you want to call them that spit out the ice into the container...make sure those fingers/arms arent stuck from the ice.
if it has a feeler arm it will look like a wire the size of a metal coat hanger it is on the right side of the icemaker if it is up pull it down to start making ice
