I have a nec vy16f/rf-r notebook. i have tried to install realtek ac 97 audio drivers but it still shows yellow marks !

At first it shows now multimedia audio device drivers i have installed realtek ac 97 a406 drivers but no luck of sound it shows yellow ! mark..and no sound coming out

click start control panel sounds and audio volume advanced speakers make sure you have selected the

(appropriate speakers) also audio you will find 3 drop down lists make sure you have the correct settings there

click start control panel sounds and audio devices select advanced there might be a tick in the mute box untick it

* i think you haven't register o.s

* if o.s is register it will not support some drivers to be installed

SOURCE: sound problem

after installing the operating system usually windows u must install the device drivers for ur system. each mainboard has a cd which u get while purchasing ur computer. if u dont have the cd try to download the drivers from the net.
near the cpu socket there is the model number and manufacturer of ur mainboard search for the drivers by the model number and name.
