Water stays in Gasket on Whirlpool GHW9400 Front Loader

Having trouble with 1-2 cups of water remaining in the gasket on this front loading washer machine after each cycle. I did remove the bottom panel and clean the pump filter out, but it's still doing it. We've also run bleach through the dispenser and have done the full sanitize cycle. Any other ideas?

The porthole seal should have drain holes. These may have become blocked. Wipe away any deposits with a soft cloth, and check the drainage holes (possibly slots) for blockage. Unblock if necessary with a slender wooden or plastic probe.

SOURCE: Water dumps on clothes when opening the lid.

It sounds like the seal is loose (worn out) or damaged in any case....not sealing. Calypso's splash a lot and when bleach is used regularly they corrode quickly. To replace the seal you have to get a whole inner lid assy. I also advise not using bleach or at least not regularly.

SOURCE: Finished Clean Washer cycle and my bleach dispenser full

It's normal for all washers with a sanitize or tub clean cycle to leave diluted bleach in the dispenser

How to clean Electrolux front loader washing machine

Thank you for your inquiry, Charles!

From my understanding you need to clean your Electrolux front load washer. The best way to clean out your washer is to use a hot water cycle and a cup of bleach. I would also recommend cleaning the front gasket using a water and bleach solution. You can visit a home store to see if they offer any type of washing machine cleaner as well. I hope this information is helpful to you. -Matt

Whirlpool Front Loading Door leaking water

The most common cause for a front loading washer to leak from the front door is a torn or detached gasket where that gasket attached to the machine.
Open the door and begin to pull the gasket away from the opening. Look for any problems. If you find a place where the gasket is not firmly secured to the opening, you can list that area up and glue (even with super glue) the gasket back down to the metal opening.
If you find gasket damage, it will need to be replaced.

Front loader washer leaks from bottom center of door osmetimes

Check inside the door on the bellows gasket to make sure the inlet area (normally at the 10 o'clock position) is properly positioned around the water inlet, sometimes these work themselves off the inlet nozzle and can casue a leak when the washer is filling up.

Also, carefully run your hand around the bellows gasket to see if you can find any small holes that cold be letting water leak out. You'll need a flashlight to make this easier. It is hardly ever the hinges that causes a leak since the hinges are mounted outside of the door seal gasket (bellows gasket) and aren't ever exposed to the water.

Musty smell in washer and clothes.water remains in rubber gasket

Two thing that you might try: Add two or three cups of bleach and have the machine run a cycle (with no clothes!!!). Second, always leave the door open after use to let it air out. Also, it wouldn't hurt to use straight bleach as a wipe to the entire rubber tub seal.

Grey front seal holding water

Old machines used to have a drain hose in the bottom to take that water away however they tended to snap off and allow water to leak on the floor .

On new ones they accept that water will lay in the gasket.

If it bothers you try putting a strip of Vileda cloth into the gasket at the end of the wash to soak it up .

It is bright enough to see and to remind you to remove and dry it.

Add a little Soda Crystal to the soap drawer , thsi softens the water and stops smells
